What I hear when I see a Straight complain about their het couple
Just out of curiosity, do you dislike Be//amy, or just what the writers did to him in season 3?
I honestly started to like him back in season 2. I can direct you to my old blog, which I don’t use anymore because irl people found it. It’s not a lot but like I said, I only just started liking him and thought he had potential to grow even more in s3 lol so naive. Like he was a dick in s1 starting off, you can’t argue with that, and he was hella problematic. S2 it looked like he was getting better and developing and that the problematic stuff will get addressed. Also, I loved the platonic relationship that he and Clarke were developing.
Like, how often do you see a female leader with a male lieutenant/right hand man? It’s usually the other way around on tv/movies from what I’ve see (Malcolm-Zoe, Roy-Riza, Fury-Maria Hill, Coulson-May). Those were the ones I thought of at the top of my head. It’ll take me way longer to think up the opposite (Olivier-Miles from Fullmetal Alchemist…can’t think of any live-action tv).
Like I’m so pissed because theloo was in a place where it could circumvent so many old tropes and really make a mark in tv history. There’s reasons why BtvS & Firefly are cult hits and people still love it and they still have influence on present tv. Like so much lost potential.
That includes Bellamy. Like how the fuck do you scrap a seasons worth of development and regress him so badly?
“Oh, it happened off screen”
Bullshit. Thats straight up fucking lazy ass shit writing.
Any writer worth their fucking salt should tell you what’s on screen is what happens. 1) the majority of viewers don’t follow social media of a show’s writers so closely, so how are they to know about development offscreen? 2) why did the writers decide not to show the massacre by Be//amy & co.? So it won’t have a big impact on the audience. I repeat.
So it won’t have a big impact on the audience.
This is so we should be able to forgive him later on. We don’t see the details, so we could ignore them/put them aside. However, this also applies to his character regressment, at least for me: I haven’t seen it so I’m having a hard time accepting it.
Basically, s3 writing has gone to shit all over the place. Including and especially Be//amy.
Also I probably wouldn’t hate him this if it weren’t for the insufferable Straight™ Bl@kers
Shout out to all the baby blarkers who hate Lexa right now for the same reason I hated Tara Maclay with every fiber of my being back then : that she represented everything I wasn't ready to admit I was at the time. Come find us in a few years, clexakru will still be there.
"no I dont have receipts but I know I saw-" stop right there please
Not all "blarkers" are the same
Don't hold all bellarke shippers responsible for what some did or said. These bellarke extremists are only a minority in our fandom. Not all "blarkers" are the same. Just because we like the same ship it doesn't mean we share the same opinions. Don't make it an insult to be a bellarke shipper.
I really have to stay away from The 100 tag. The latest blarker absurdity: Bellamy was/is emotionally abused by Pike!
Blarkers' stages of denial bordering on paroxysm or a fundamental failure to recognize and understand love:
Lexa bows and vows to Clarke - she's manipulating her Clarke is worried for Lexa's life - it's all about her people Clarke and Lexa nightgowns scene - fanservice, Lexa wants sex Sex scene leaked - Lexa rapes Clarke Clarke draws Lexa - everything happens in the City of Light, Titus and Lexa spiked Clarke's food Jason Rothenberg says the above theory is silly - Clarke has Stockholm Syndrome
