Crispy Smoked Provolone BLATs are a delightful twist on the classic BLT sandwich, featuring the addition of smoked Provolone cheese for extra flavor. The combination of crispy bacon, creamy avocado, juicy tomatoes, peppery arugula, and melted cheese creates a harmonious explosion of flavors and textures in every bite.
Ingredients: 8 slices thick-cut bacon. 8 slices sourdough bread. 8 slices smoked Provolone cheese. 2 ripe avocados, sliced. 2 medium tomatoes, sliced. 2 cups arugula. Mayonnaise, to taste. Salt and pepper, to taste.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 400F 200C. Place bacon slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until crispy. Remove from oven and drain excess grease on paper towels. Toast sourdough bread slices until golden brown. Assemble sandwiches by spreading mayonnaise on one side of each toasted bread slice. Layer smoked Provolone cheese slices, avocado slices, tomato slices, arugula, and crispy bacon on half of the bread slices. Season with salt and pepper, then top with remaining bread slices to form sandwiches. Slice sandwiches in half diagonally and serve immediately.
