“Blaze I’m so happy you came. It’s going to be so much fun.” The boy grabbed Blaze’s hand and pulled him inside before he could resist.
“What are you waiting for? Go on, go play” Gabriel urged his daughter who hung back holding his hand. Looking for a second it looked like she would protest then she squealed running after the boys.
“I see you made it,” Azalea said as he entered the house.
“Yeah I thought a good home cooked meal would be nice for the kids,” he said, giving her a hug. He knew by the look on her face that she didn’t believe him.
“You better be careful,” Logan said shaking his hand. “Your sister’s already planning the wedding.”
“She’s just a kid” he protested, facing a rosy pink.
“You’re not exactly an old man” Logan pointed out “what are you 28? That’s not a big age difference.”
“I have two kids” he pointed out “I may as well be twenty years older than her.”
“And she has her kid brother to raise,” he pointed out “I fail to see the problem.” Laughing Logan shook his head “you know you like her…”
He opened his mouth to protest but what could he say? He’s used every excuse he could think of and yet he was here. His stomach had butterflies the size of birds flying around inside him. He’d never considered falling in love again. Losing Emma had ripped his heart out, it was a pain he’d gone through each time displacement event. Watching her suffer the loss of their kids had been unbearable and for that fact alone he didn’t regret changing the past. He only regretted that she didn’t live to see them grow up.
