Blazer spam
Sometimes I do silly doodles like this in the corners of my sketchbook to fill up space, or have characters commenting on a piece I'm currently sketching.
Mersquid Blazer from an AU of mine.
Haven't drawn anything from this MerAU in a while so it was a nice change to doodle something up.
Holiday Blazer and Bamboo.
Blazer seems to be the type that will go the extra mile and dress up her S clip for the occasion. Bamboo carved the snowflake ornament herself to hang on her hat rather than a tree.
Coroika AU where everything is the same, except Yellow-Green Team are the opposite genders of what they currently are. They still have the same personalities as regular YG though, so nothing changes in that respect.
Have had these designs kicking around for a while and have drawn them from time to time in my sketchbook. I've always felt shy about posting the designs and sharing them until now, so I hope you see the vision. Might upload past sketches of these same designs in the future if there is interest. Especially considering I have a few images where Rider and Stealth's designs are easily more seen and fleshed out.
The last member of Yellow-Green is here. A plushie of Blazer arrives with a bubbly and cheerful attitude.
Her small details were a lot of fun to create, especially her necktie and school emblem on her jacket. The emblem of which I hand embroidered! Yes, the S pin does indeed have googly eyes lol.
Kind of wish the skirt had come out better. The pleats kept flaring a lot for some reason and I didn't like the look. Though I think the issue was more on my end in how I sewed the pleats initially more than anything :c I ended up sewing around the bottom to keep the ends from flaring out and to give a cleaner look.
Like the previous batch, Blazer was made using various scrap fabric stashes. The fabric for her skirt and tie are leftover cutoffs from when I made a Blazer cosplay!
It was nice to be able to incorporate leftover scraps from my cosplays of these characters into their plushie versions. Helped get rid of a lot of small scraps that were sitting around.
All in all, making these plushies was a great project to take on. I was able to use previous knowledge from working on cosplays to help complete each one, levelling up my sewing skills in the process while also learning new skills and trying new things. I improved my hand stitching, taught myself how to hand embroider and learned that making smaller scale items is not so scary and hard as I thought it would be. The skills I've learned here will most definitely be useful going forward when making new cosplays, or clothing items in general. I still hate sewing on sleeves though, that has not changed despite scale differences.
