[that old shrine just outside of town has such a strange energy to it...]
this particular bleach dr does come with a concept of another world called the spirit world, which is home to kitsune, dragons, oni, and other such yokai. this world is overall more detached from the other worlds, typically only interacting subtly or through offering power to a shinigami via zanpakutō. in this version, the zanpakutō are less extensions of themselves and more a piece of (or occasionally a whole) spirit that decided to offer it's powers. shinigami know little about the spirit world apart from the typical folklore and whatever they may learn from their zanpakutō. (not sure if i'll ever make a full post regarding this, but i will consider it since i'm pretty happy about what i've done with it so far.)
