The Best Things in Life are Free

Midway through their five week residency at The Stillery in Camden Town, London Indie/Dance outfit Bleach Blood are quickly becoming one of the best gigs for music loving Londoners with the urge to dance to something loud and catchy but without a repetitive bass note shaking their rib cage (as fun as that can be). On top of that, each and every one of these gigs, whether or not Bleach Blood headlines, is absolutely free. 

It was on Tuesday, February 3rd that Bleach Blood joined forces with Newcastle Alt/Punk band Boy Jumps Ship andHastings indie rockers Dorey The Wise to blow the roof off this new addition to Camden Town’s already thriving live music and club scene. The Stillery was opened in the summer of 2014 by the fine people already running London favourites The Old Blue Last in Shoreditch and Birthdays over in Dalston, so it’s safe to say they know how to put on a good show.  

Aside from putting on a charismatic, high energy rock show, Bleach Blood possess a quality not many bands can claim outside of their multi-take recordings.  They’re tight as hell.  While the apathetic, gloomy alt rock band standing in place as if stuck in the middle of a large dose of opiates wearing off is still a classic and completely acceptable way to put on a live show, this band is not about that. 

Where a massive act may lip sink and a smaller act may thrash around, caught up in the energy of the gig, regardless of how many wrong notes they manage to blurt out while slamming their headstocks against their drummers tattered crash ride, these guys will give you all that fun while still maintaining their craft. 

If you’re looking for a slightly louder and far more romantic evening, ditch your restaurant reservation this Valentines Day and check out the next instalment of the Bleach Blood residency on Saturday, February 14th along with Norwich folk punkers Ducking Punches and singer/songwriter Matt Grocott.  If you’re single, well then all the better. 

As always, entrance is free and if your significant other still insists on a quiet, candlelit dinner.  The last, free Bleach Blood show at The Stillery will be Friday, February 20th.  Additionally, they’ll be kicking off a UK tour on February 25th at Banquet Records in Kingston upon Thames.
