sorry for rant so early in the morning but today two friends were supposed to come for lunch and I went out of my way to get groceries yesterday at the asia store and japanese supermarket so I could make Tonyu Nabe, but they just cancelled (not their fault, something came up). Now I‘m stuck with a fridge full of yummies that me and Bakerman can impossibly eat just the two of us?? And obviously my brain is in grumpy mode, I need to come up with ideas on how to use all that food TAT;;

New GP visit today after being struck off by my last GP for harassment (read: when the GP randomly stopped my testosterone, i said. Hey. You can't do that? What's the medical reasoning?)

Cross all your fingers and toes for me please, hopefully the doctor is just Normal

What's really frustrating is that my main concern atm is actually my pain management, and What's making my current pain and inflammation flare up so badly is in part acute and severe stress from being hate crimed as a transgender person BY a medical professional

But I'm going to have to answer questions about my testosterone and about vaginal atrophy where many doctors are automatically biased and assume any underlying issue must be caused or worsened by my being transgender

Rather than that a) my hormones HELP against EDS, bc progesterone worsens it

And b) the problem is the medical discrimination and bigotry I experience from cisgender people, including medical practitioners, not the actual being transgender

Need to adapt Mephisto and Aranea's design to the Helluva Boss style (pretty much like I did with Dottie) and FML I need to go with Spider Queen for Aranea because she would look fantastic.

I need to kinda pinch myself because arachnophobia sucks, but when a design requires it, we just power through phobias lololol.

Also, Imma make Mephisto a sibling to Wrath Dragon Daddy because I need Mephisto's design to be that of a black dragon.

Do not ask how he managed to have a son that is a bird, because I will just point at Paimon lololol

Well I've picked up a cold. In a way lucky because it's the weekend and I can spend today sleeping. I'm wfh on Monday and Tuesday is a holiday.

Okay, I don't know if this is actually a hot take or not, but I wanted to say this:

To me, often the stories that have no (overt) romance--but still clearly have love--are the most meaningful. Like, you can have Sam and Frodo fucking in your fanfic or your headcanons if you really want to, but isn't it beautiful that they didn't need romance to still love each other? To be willing to sacrifice so much for each other, and persevere through such hardship together? Isn't it meaningful to anyone that the kind of love--familial, platonic, friendship--was what sustained the heroes of a story through their trials when that kind of love is so often made a distant second to romantic, sexual love? Can't the love between friends, between chosen familial bonds, be enough? Must we reduce everything to just. Shipping. What if they were just friends? What if a story could still celebrate humanity and the power of love and still be aromantic and asexual? What if there were a platonic explanation for this, and it was the good old Power of Friendship?

Maybe I'm just in my aroace bitter feelings again, but it does get kind of alienating when all a fandom seems to want to talk about when engaging with their Story of Choice is what they think about the hypothetical sex.

This isn't about any particular fandom, despite my using LotR as the example, but I will say I firmly believe all Tolkien's characters are aroace, and any canonical relationships are qprs and any children sprung fully formed from the earth. The same goes for Terry Pratchett's characters. You can pry this from my cold, dead hands.
