Etho's a member of the NHO, a semi-well known group of criminals in the undercity. He's a tinkerer and kind of a hermit, despite having a few inventions that have improved the lives of many in the undercity, he largely prefers keeping to himself and keeping out of the 'public' eye. Nearly everyone knows of him but they don't know much about him.

His mask is a respirator, which he needs to breathe even in the upper parts of Zaun where the air is generally okay nowadays. Generations of family having health problems from the toxic air fucked his lungs up big time, so his body is a little more sensitive.

He lost his eye after angering another gang and getting caught alone, kind of kidnapped, tortured + left to die. Doc patched him up as best he could when they found him, but it definitely wasn't perfect.

I haven't been able to really look at my reflection in a while because all I see is my father. I know I'm not a carbon copy of him or anything, but we share enough features and physical traits that it's very obvious that I am his child. it's getting worse the further I get into my medical transition. every time I see myself in the mirror or in photos, I feel sick. triggered. our hair colour and texture are the same, and he also wore it long when I was small. our build is similar, and so on and so forth. my grey hairs are particularly distressing as I quickly accumulate more at my temples and elsewhere. not because I'm greying fairly early, but because it just fucking reminds me of my father.

I don't have the funds to get another piercing, and my current eyebrow piercing is migrating. it'll probably come out in the next year, which really upsets me. I'm okay with trading it in for a scar, though.

so more metal in my face is not a viable option. that leaves me with changing my hair, which hasn't been dyed in two years and is pretty much 95% my natural color after the big chop in the fall. so, we're dying it again. I know I told myself I was done last time, but I just can't fucking handle this anymore. I spent over an hour extremely triggered the other day about this. I'm relapsing with trich and have plucked my neck, chin, and face completely bald twice in the last month.

back to red we go. I'm hoping it comes out close to the below shade we've done before, I couldn't find an exact match. (the second pic is my current and natural hair color. side note: we are not letting the token woman-aligned part pick our glasses frames the next time. I hate these). I'm dyeing it tomorrow, when our partner is home to help.
