Julia Borg - Qurator for Blekingska Nation, Lund University
Julia is 23 years old, studying medicine in Lund University and being highly involved as qurator for Blekingska nation. The nation is founded in 1697 with the aim to provide Lund's students with an "interesting and meaningful studies and social environment", explained Julia. You may be wondering how such a young lady got into this position in one of the most historic nations in Lund. Julia shared with us that she worked for 3 years, helping in nations activities, being responsible for the Café and the Bar during the club nights. Why did you apply for qurator?
To get the possibility to work full time for an organization I love and have had so much fun with. But also to get the opportunity to develop my managerial skills.
Is your position different from what you expected it to be? How?
No. I expected a busy schedule and a lot of work and that is what I got. But it is
much more fun than a expected.
How do you think you will benefit from it in your future career?
Hopefully I learn a lot about leadership that I will use in my future career. I have also learned a lot about communication that I will use in the future as a doctor.
What do you think that your colleagues here will remember you for the
most?
Taking decisions together as a team.
What are you in the organisation looking for when recruiting new
members?
Passion for develop of the organizations activities.
If you would get a star of fame, what would have been your
accomplishment? For increasing the interest for the non alcoholic related
activities here at the nation.
If you were a physical item, what would you be?
A battery. A small physical item with a lot of energy!
What did you dream of becoming when you were a child?
As a child I wanted to be a doctor and that is what I still want to be.
If you could spend a day with anyone you like, alive or dead, who would
you choose? Why?
