Random Arse Blending Mode Guide + Shading guide?
Technically just for Ibispaint users (But if you wanna use it you can, just be aware your art orogram may have less blending it more blending modes to which this might not be very useful to you). Now this is a BASIC guide. (Which means take this with a grain of salt) Also btw... When using a blending mode.. ALWAYS USE THE OPACITY BAR, the opacity bar is your friend & there isn't a need to be afraid of it. If you dont want your drawings to be abnormally bright or dark, use the opacity bar!
For my art, I normally use 2-3 layers of hard light mode for shading (blush: 55%, main shade: 50%, & Darker Shade: 45%) while I use 2 layers of add mode (both 40%). Bl00d & other stuff is normally on multiply mode.
Anyways here's ye basic ahh Color thing. Aka Normal Blending Mode
Now here are the categories... (Best to read the Alt text for everyone bcs i got lazy changing the text-)
First: Darken
Next: Lighten
Next up: Contrast
Then: Difference
Finally: Color
Thats the guide ig. But remember, use the opacity bar if you are going to choose a blending mode. (Bxs they can be intense)
Tip: Also if you want some good lighting/shading. Here's a guide vvv (Read the text in the photos, idfk)
Now green is a oddball tbh. But in my opinion you can use a warm or cool color to shade it if you feel like one is better than the other. Hell, if you wan you can even shade green with light blue OR YELLOW! (Bcs green is the oddball of the colors imo)
Not rlly a official guide, but might be useful. (Idfk if this will help or not.. But dont h8 me I tried :') )
Using the “hard mix” blending mode feels like computer abuse like how much work is my screen doing to keep up with this
(Possible eyestrain warning)
i think i'm kind of a slut for the difference blending mode actually GET INVERTED BITCH
anyone else feeling this?
