Grace is greysexual and Demi-romantic, he is sex neutral. He finally realized there wasn’t something wrong with him while on the Hail Mary while doom scrolling wiki. (He 100% read wiki pages for fun and as well as the human dictionary so he can explain words to Rocky better.)
Rocky is low key a nudists - He doesn’t like the texture of the clothes he has left the wear and he didn’t want to ruin his celebration clothes so he ended up ripping the clothes off and instead just went nude till like 2 months before they get to erid. (Grace was flabbergasted to learn this about Rocky)
While Grace was in college he helped his college roommate with his final project one year and ended up being apart of a band and released an album. (I am referring Dead Man’s Bones, a band Ryan Gosling was in) Rocky finds out bully’s Grace, listens to some of the songs (practically the entire album) and then force Grace to sing some of the songs for him.
It takes Rocky 3 and half months (earth units) to release that Grace is absolutely not the standard for humans and is very neurodivergent.
Rocky always knew he had a crush on Grace and even told Adrian this when he returned home but it took till one specific day for Rocky to realize that he in love with Grace + Adrian realized that they actually find Grace attractive and not just fascinating
Personally l go with one of two stories for when Rocky and Adrian have said realization:
Rocky and Adrain walks into Grace auguring and yelling at a staff member of his care team bout how they been treating Grace like a freak experience and for talking shit behind Rocky’s back. The argument gets loud and kind of aggressive and Grace snaps and picks up one of Rocky weaving tools. Grace point one end at the staff member and threats to make the staff member freeze in his atmosphere the next time they make a comment like that in front of him.
Grace was talking to a group of elder members and was showing off his knowledge. It gave a chance for Adrian to finally see the Grace Rocky knows and love and lets Rocky get a chance to relive the Grace he first met that rambled about everything scientific without a break.

I AM A DEMI GRACE TRUTHER!! (with respect for other peoples hcs ofc!!) I also love the idea of him just like finding out his identity and shit while on the Hail Mary to kill time. Like I do not see him investigating his identity that much on Earth, definitely trying to focus more on being as “normal” as he can be given the fact that he’s already alienated himself a lot in his former career and all that. Additionally I can see him trying to understand his identity with labels because after forgetting himself and having to remember who he was piece-by-piece I think he might cling to labels so he can have SOMETHING to identify with yk?? Does ts make sense 🥹

I’ve seen comics about this and I think it’s a really funny punchline BUT!!! I actually am a “movie eridians just don’t wear clothes” insist-er because with that thick of an outer shell plus them not really having like exposed sensitive areas (to my understanding) it makes sense that they never evolved to really have clothing as a necessity (I THINK. IM NOT A SCIENTIST. I PUT THE NOT IN NOT-A-SCIENTIST.) We know they have celebration clothing because of that scene, but to me I see that as like wearing accessories as opposed to like clothing yk?? BUT AT TGE SAME TIME THE IDEA OF ROCKY JUST BEING ASS OUT THE WHOLE TIME HES KNOWN GRACE IS SO FUNNY
Grace in Dead Man’s Bones
I have yet to actually listen to more than some snippets of the album, but I think knowing the anger that he held when he was younger really does make him being in a band like this one plausible 💀 I do think that he wouldn’t have necessarily have joined a band just to join one, so the idea of it being through someone’s final project is lowkey clever. I like to imagine Grace’s students on Earth finding out about it and he definitely does NOT hear the end of it for a while the year this happens.
Rocky realizing Grace is Neurodivergent
I love the idea of Grace and Rocky both being “weird” from their planet’s standards. Like the concept of them both being abnormal examples of their species is so important to me you don’t even know. Rocky finds out because of all of the Earth content he gets to consume on the Hail Mary, but Grace does not find out until he interacts with other Eridians for the first time.

OKAY. I LOVE GROCKDRIAN. I very specifically lobe the idea of Grace pulling out one of his clever insults (i.e. staggering waste of carbon) and something just clicking in that Eridian brain.
