7, 20, & 24!
Thank yooou :*
7) when asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?
I’m pretty enthusiastic to tell people that I write, but telling them what I write about is a little bit of a different story hahaha. I always have to choose my words carefully and not let people know that I’m writing fan fics, so I try and make it out that I’m writing original pieces because for the most part that’s true... But then there are people like my best friends and my sister who I can tell what I’m actually writing and that helps when I need to bounce ideas off of people.
20) do you write in long sit-down sessions or in little spurts?
I used to write in long sit-down sessions, but I’ve found lately that I get far too distracted when I’m sitting on the computer. It helps when I’m writing in Google Docs on my phone because then I can only have one thing up at a time, but even then, I’ll be able to write a couple of paragraphs here and there and not be able to sit and write cohesively for a long period unless I have a deadline.
24) have you ever become an expert on something you previously knew nothing about, in order to better a scene or a story?
I try to do a lot of research on things that I’m not knowledgeable on before I write??? Here’s an example of some bookmarks I have for writing in general, but also ones specifically for Fool’s Gold and Forget Me Not.
So, you can kinda see that I like to get a lot of information before I really dive in. I find that getting a lot of like technical/text book info mixed in with personal testimonies about things gives me a good idea of how things usually work and how they can differ from person to person, which allows me to feel more comfortable about customizing things for the circumstances of a fic while also remaining true to whatever the subject matter is at hand.
