7. What annoys them the most about their partner? Would they change it if they could?
By far the thing that annoys Nate the most about Mick is that Mick will leave any emotional stuff until he absolutely can’t avoid addressing it. It drives Nate up the wall. On one hand, it would be easier for both of them if Mick didn’t have that particular issue, but on the other, Nate’s well aware that it’s as much a product of Mick’s life as Mick is, so he wouldn’t change it, as annoying as it often is.
The thing that annoys Mick the most about Nate is how Nate can’t resist trying to help or save people or creatures, even when it endangers himself. He just wants Nate to stop putting himself in danger, stop (usually almost) getting himself killed but, like Nate with Mick’s biggest flaw, Mick’s very aware that Nate wouldn’t be Nate if he wasn’t like that, not to mention that they probably would never have met.
17. What would make them break up? Would it be permanent?
Let’s be real: they probably break up a bunch of times, for various reasons, ranging from Mick denying to a journalist that their relationship is serious, to Nate bringing up The Future, but get back together when they actually decide to talk about why they reacted badly. They’re on and off for about two years before all of their respective issues are settled enough.
