its funny because when i first posted about my non-dysphoric trans way i was VERY hesitant because its complex and nuanced and i was worried people would take it out of context and flatten it into something incorrect. turns out the people were fine. MACHINES on the other hand cant figure it out

to explain again and help the broken AI machine and then i wont have to talk about it anymore: my preferred pronouns are he/him. my real pronouns are she/her. i prefer to use the wrong pronouns

the reason i do this is because i am not dysphoric and dont need every conversation i have to revolve around gender and my spiritual beliefs about gender. i love my male body even if it does not match my soul. it is a VERY COOL SECOND PLACE and i am pumped as heck on it

if we are talkin just use he/him. ASSUME AWAY. just dont put it on any technical documents or labelers because it is technically incorrect. dont put anything on those. i had a book delayed two weeks because of this once. ANYWAY hopefully the computer will have an easier time with this

Gotta tell you guys something wild in the Chinese fan sphere

So some fanartist drew a “sexy” (read: booby) version of a (cartoon) character who is traditionally very non-sexualised. Fans of the character got mad about it because it’s kind of groundbreaking how that character is written and portrayed and this art totally ignores the entire point of the character. They demanded the art be deleted. In response to that other people said, well what the fanartist did may be distateful but they have every right to draw what they’re into. The two sides fight for days and each starts a harassment campaign and even report their “opponents’” accounts.

So far so typical. But things eventually come to a head and they decide that this will be settled by votes - not through a poll. Through donations to a children’s education charity via each side’s portal. Whoever can get the highest amount of donation wins.

And that is how this charity received over 1 million in donations in three days lol. Oh btw the “freedom of expression” side won by a landslide (960k to 40k)

ohhhh shit. target is recalling their up & up baby wipes (fragrance free & fresh cucumber scented) because they're contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli, multiple people are reporting discoloration & infections. i just got a call about it cuz i had purchased those but i've already gone through them 😅 so no refund for me. but im fine. if you have these they're saying you need to immediately stop using them and bring them back to target for a full refund. this bacteria can cause life threatening infections in children/infants and people with compromises immune systems (ESPECIALLY cystic fibrosis!!) and i know lots of other chronically ill people follow me!!!!

Prey populations bounce back faster than their predators. The higher on the food chain something is, the slower it reproduces

So if you kill all the bugs in your yard, you're not only killing "pests" but all the predators that keep the population of those pests in balance with everything else

The pests will recover faster than their predators, and since the predators are gone...you get more pests than you ever had to begin with

To make matters worse, populations of many common "pest" insects evolve resistance to pesticides hella fast. Mosquitoes got DDT resistant in some areas like...a year after they started spraying DDT

And EVEN WORSE

A lot of harmless creepy crawlies that people want to kill (Spiders, ants, beetles) are actually the main predators of ticks, which can actually make you sick.

It's basically like an addiction. You spray your yard for pests, for a while it looks like they're all gone, but then all of a sudden, the pests come back with a vengeance. Better spray again to make sure they're gone! The cycle repeats. The infestations get worse and worse and you buy more and more poisons to get rid of them and it just keeps going.

This is exactly what the chemical companies want to happen.
