It’s been 10 years since my most favorite album, the Boys Like Girls self titled debut album, was released. Out of all of my favorite bands this is the one that got me through high school.
Nostalgia.
If you could be able to spend one night reliving some of the greatest memories, would you? My friend and I had the opportunity to do just that last week. Boys Like Girls were that kind of band for us. Yes, nostalgia. It has been awhile. Ten years ago, their first album was released and who knew that 10 years later we would be listening to them play this album from the beginning to the end. It was the first anniversary tour that we had the opportunity to attend! (Yes, we were that excited. Who wouldn’t be? haha). The best part was seeing all of the fans singing the same songs that they fell in love with ten years later. Music has that kind of impact on people. As we were going through our teenage years, we were trying to figure out who we were as individuals. From “The Great Escape” to “Up Against The Wall,” we will always be thankful for the memories associated with music from our youth especially Boys Like Girls. Thank you.
10 years later and boys like girls’ self titled will forever have a place in my heart as the first record i really loved. seeing it performed in full last night meant more to me than anyone could ever know (honestly it’s stupid how much this band means to me they’re kinda sorta the reason i am the person i am so lol) and the medley of oldies actually made me tear up and martin laugh so 12 year old me is very satisfied. i can’t thank @martinsays @johnblg @paulblg enough for what you’ve done and for being so great to your fans over the years ❤️❤️❤️ tl;dr: boys like girls still owns my emo ass
