This was a project that consisted of assorted scraps. I had a small dragon that wasn't working in its original project, so I cut it out. I had a bunch of 1-inch edges of bristol board that I'd watercolored, so I added grassy effects and layered them. I had a small chunk of illustration board that had a Completely Different Painting, which I covered with an approximation of mountains. Then, just add shiny bits. Voila! This one is called Meadow Dragon, and it's from 2014.

I used the Blick Studio colored pencils on the dragon. These hard-lead pencils are surprisingly comparable to Caran d'Ache, but cost a quarter of the price.

Are there any alcohol markers (preferably brush+chisel nibs) that have a sepia set? I've looked at Blick studio, copics, and ohuhu and can only find one or two sepia colors, not a whole set

I know Copic vs Ohuhu has been argued since Ohuhu came onto the scene, but I stayed out of it in favor of Blick Studio since they had both the brush nib/chisel combo and were refillable like Copics, but cheaper like Ohuhus. But now Ohuhu not only has the brush/chisel combo but are refillable now too. All the big name art YouTubers are saying they're using Ohuhu now but like. They'd sell their souls to corporate if it meant they get first dibs on whatever will end up becoming the trend everyone else will endlessly copy from them for views so like. Real human being artists of tumblr: are Ohuhus worth the switch from Block Studio?

I've just been using Canson XL smooth Bristol board (one hundred pounds, two hundred sixty GSM) for my alcohol markers and am satisfied with it, but I want something smaller for travel and also not spiral bound. I've been looking at Stillman and Birn Alpha and Zeta, and Zeta specifies markers on its site page, but it's also thicker paper than the XL Bristol, at two hundred seventy. Thicker paper means less bleedthrough, but it also sucks up the ink from your markers faster and are less easy to blend.

Anyway, anyone know a good travel-size alcohol marker sketchbook? Landscape preferable but if not no biggie. S&B appeals to me for it's compact shape and softcover option, but I'm not sold on it yet

Thinking about getting new markers, but separately. From Blick. AD markers, are they any good? They're like 3 dollars a marker.. so I'm only getting skin tones and a few random colors. I think this might be better than getting an entire pack. Then when one gets dry I'll order another to replace it.
