I tried to say, "I'm a functional adult," but my phone changed it to "fictional Adult," and I feel like that's a more accurate.
“Here’s to the bridge-builders, the hand-holders, the light-bringers, those extraordinary souls wrapped in ordinary lives who quietly weave threads of humanity into an inhumane world. They are the unsung heroes in our world. They are the whisperers of hope that peace is possible. Look for them in the darkness. Light your candle with their flame. And then go. Build bridges. Hold hands. Bring light to a dark and desperate world. Be the hero you are looking for. Peace is possible. It begins with us.”

Welcome to the Creatives Workshop for the Visually Impaired and Blind.
No matter how dark our visual world is, our minds and imaginations remain brilliant. This group is a sanctuary for the creative mind that flourishes behind the loss of sight. We are a nonspecific genre group of hobbyists, amateurs & professionals, and those curious about the craft. We are also a platform to display and celebrate creativity in the arts. Here you will find writers, musicians, artists, sculptors, photographers, and so much more.
For those interested, an Anthology of Works will be built from this group’s hard work and published in December 2023. If we continue to compile enough annual submissions, V.I. Workshop will assemble a yearly anthology to be published and promoted by V.I. Creatives Independent Publishing. Any and all profits from the publication will be donated to the non-profit organization of choice, decided by that year’s anthology contributors.
This entirely free service is energized by its members and their constructive critiques and enforced by dismissing judgmental posts and comments. This community will only thrive if all of our members feel safe expressing themselves openly.

This is the opening of a 4700-word short story. It was written for the Fix/Grist Imagine 2200 contest but wasn’t selected. I plan to revise it and submit to a science fiction magazine. I also have plans to write a longer version. Enjoy.

Hello All!
As you can see, after today’s meeting, we expanded our site to include Art! We are a community of creatives exploring and promoting the art of expression in all of its forms. Thus we have added a Gallery for our artist-creatives. Please help us fill this space with your creations – https://vicreativesworkshop.com/v-i-gallery/
Today, we had a member practice reading his short story aloud, in order to pitch it to a literary agent. The majority of creatives don’t have to memorize, and repeat audio feedback, in order to sell a pitch, however, the visually impaired have to do exactly that. Today is cause for celebration as one in our group put forth this tremendous effort, and succeeded brilliantly. Kudos Paul, you are going to do fantastically! Go get ’em!
We were also graced with reading/singing of lyrics. And VI Creatives would like to remind our community that our Spotify channel will not only have written pieces read aloud but music as well.
