Guys I finally watched a bunch of the actual videos from the blind date project, and let's just say I am completely in love with Hoechlin and almost as in love with Bojana so I'll just date both of them k thx bai
One last short video to tide you over until the limit lifts and I can add the other long ones. Why yes I was still watching him during Bojana’s karaoke.
One of my favorite things about Hoechlin is that when he’s caught off guard, he slips into gentleman mode. Bojana was playing Rapidly Approaching Way Too Drunk Girl, and when she tripped, he held onto her until she was safely in her seat. When she marvels that he’s still helping her, he gives his “yes of course, what else would I be doing?” face.
Another moment that I don’t think I captured on video - she actually slid off her stool at one point (and I sat on those before the show started, to order my drink, and they’re slippery and difficult to stay put on!), and he helped her back up and then pushed his leg forward for her to brace against so she wouldn’t fall again.
Tyler Can’t Help Being a Gentleman Hoechlin.
I’m hitting my vimeo upload limit for the week, so here’s a short one with Hoechlin (aka Blind Date Project Shawn Woods)’s thoughts on what karaoke should be like. After she laughs awkwardly and the video cuts out, he realizes he accidentally insulted her and blushes in embarrassment.
He did a LOT of blushing during this show. It was great.
I didn’t take a ton of videos, sadly (because I was in the front row and had an amazing view of Hoechlin’s face and expressions the entire time and wish I could see some of them again!), but I grew up with a dad who videotaped EVERYTHING WE DID and all our travels, and forgot to actually live in the moment. So I didn’t want to live this incredible experience through a screen.
More to come soon, though! I couldn’t resist picking up my phone for certain moments.
They closed out their Blind Date Project with a song from Grease. I only wish they’d had time to sing more of it, but I think the show’d already run a bit past its scheduled hour mark.
Adorable, Hoechlin-style things, by the way, sadly not captured in this video: once this bit was over, they broke out of the kiss and he gently kissed her on the cheek. And then thanked her, and us, for making it a great night and helping him through his nerves.
He did a fantastic job, there’s no denying that. First live performance AND improv AND karaoke AND having your parents sitting there while you talk about Tinder and porn? Not an easy thing to do, and he handled it all beautifully.
Tyler Hoechlin - singing Wonderwall as his first karaoke number during his January 19 2016 appearance on The Blind Date Project.
I didn’t record a huge number of videos, but I made sure to capture both of his songs and a few other fun moments. Thanks to him, I’ve had this song stuck in my head for days...with no sign of stopping.
My favorite is the clear “OH MY GOD” the moment he starts singing, because that’s exactly how I think many of us in the room felt when he hit those opening notes with his raspy, sexy, surprisingly talented voice. He’s talked before about what a terrible singer he is, and he’s so talented in so many areas, it didn’t seem fair to expect him to also sing well.
...thanks, Hoechlin, for always being astounding.
I’ll truly never forget the feeling of hearing him sing for the first time. It was a special experience, and one I’m so glad I was able to share.
