It took MONTHS for Kristine to trust everyone on the castle ship. In order, it was Shiro, Lance, Hunk, Keith, Pidge, Coran, and very last, Allura. Allura just gives off a vibe that Kristine didn’t like from time to time, which is why trusting her was longest.
Kristine had been a huge help for the Paladins, especially in battle. In return, Kristine was taught to walk properly on her own two feet again instead of all four in her between form. How she wish she was still in actual neko form, but she can’t hold that form for long without her voice. Her voice was a key element in that being. That’s a story for another day.
Voltron won another planet to join their coalition against Zarkon. Currently at a celebration party for the Paladins.
Right now, Kristine was with Lance as his guide. Lance, being blind and Kristine, being one-eye blind, they tend to be together just as often as Kristine and Shiro is together. Lance was taught how to speak and understand Kristine’s language since she couldn’t form works, but she can use the language of cat to be by her side.
Lance quietly asked for Kristine to get a drink for him. She was going to take him over, but he quietly reassured her that he would be fine in the little corner that he was in. Kristine didn’t want to, but she listen and went to fetch Lance a drink.
The moment she left was Lance was surrounded. He knew they weren’t reassuring presences around him. From what Lance can hear, he can tell there are probably 6 people around him. 4 girls and 2 boys at least. What he heard next, made his heart crumble.
“Look. It’s the Blind Paladin.”
“I can’t believe Voltron still kept him.”
“Maybe he’s just a placeholder?”
“Exactly, the TRUE Blue paladin should emerge soon.”
“I’m sure he’ll die on the next mission.”
“He’s such a hindrance to everyone.”
“Go and die or something. You are burden to those who can see. A burden to your fellow teammates!”
Then there was loud roar, an angry one. Silence crept through the entire party hall. Kristine was radiating an aura of anger. She was trying not to shift forms, but her anger got the best of her. She changed into a large cheetah. No one saw it coming. Everyone moved out the way as she bound across the room to Lance.
The girls that surrounded him tried to run. All except one got away. Kristine pounced her and claw at both of her eyes. The girl let out blood-curling scream as she grabs her bleeding eyes, begging for mercy.
Kristine got off her before her eyes glowed in her cheetah form and everyone can hear the thoughts of the angry cat.
How DARE you insults Lance? How DARE you belittle him? You don’t understand what he went through. If you people wish NOT to go blind, it’s best to LEAVE HIM ALONE! DO YOU FUCKING GOT IT!
Anyone that heard quickly nods. Kristine growls lowly before moving over to Lance. She nudged his hand gently, coaxing him to climb on her back. She felt him gripped tightly to her fur before she started to move slowly to the exit and towards the castle.
Next time someone belittle Lance, they are sure to be eaten
