What a interesting little thing it was.
Alexis hung upside down on a tree branch, swaying side to side lightly as he fiddled the little pocket watch in his hand. Its silver surface held a dragon, circumscribed in a hexgram and though Alexis hadn't been around people for many years, he understood the significance of this pocket watch. It marked its carrier as a State Alchemist, a pathetic member of the Amestrian State Military.
How careless the person must have been to dropped this here. Alexis tucked the watch into his pocket, shutting his eyes as he waited for whoever dropped it coming back to look for it. The watch was slightly old, slightly worn, so whoever it was clearly had it for a while. A State Alchemist must be assessed each year, so to have kept him/her watch for so long, this person must have some skills. Alexis was bored, and slightly pissed since stupid woman Kaye forgot to cut the crust off his sandwich this morning. He wouldn't mind killing someone, especially someone who could give him a good fight.
Twenty minutes later, he heard voices.
Finally. Alexis opened his eyes, and shifted his gaze towards the source of the noises. It was a group of five or six people, all dressed in blue military uniform. There were two in the front, three in the back and one person in the middle. Clearly the person in the middle was the most important and all the others around him served to protect him. The homunculus sat up straighter, trying to peek around the two in the front to see who he'd be dealing with.
What do you know, it was Roy Mustang. Alexis smiled. And here he thought they wouldn't bump into each other again for quite a while. The homunculus stood up, not making a sound as he drew two knives from his pocket. Two seconds later, the knives found themselves buried into the throats of soldiers standing in front of Mustang. The rest of the group barely had time to react before two more of the soldiers went down. Only one left, holding on to Mustang's elbow, both guarding him and protecting him, or so Alexis thought. "Looking for your pocket watch, Colonel Mustang?" Alexis called out in an overly cheerful voice.
