I was wandering after my voice lesson and reminiscing as walked between Columbus & Amsterdam on the Upper Westside. I used to walk back to 42nd Street often after one of my voice lessons when I had time. I realized a few things that made me sad but also glad at the same time: I wasn't the young girl I was when I was growing in this region. It was lovely to see some of the changes and quite a few consistencies but I felt nostalgic and a tad bit regretful that I didn't pause long enough in my travels and pursuits to appreciate where I come from and its contributions to my travels physically and mentally. It's been lovely to be a bit of a tourist as I reacquaint myself with places and regions of the city that made some kind of impression on me.
