Why I Think BLACKPINK Had the Best Debut

This may turn into a little bit of a rant but it has been in my head for awhile and I have a blog..so why not write about the girls slaying Kpop at the moment:

BLACKPINK

So for those who do not know, BLACKPINK is a four member girl group who debuted under YG (Big Bang, 2NE1, etc.). They have four girls: Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé.

You may know them for their debut singles BOOMBAYAH or WHISTLE (Double A Sides)

I have a couple of reasons on why they have the best debut in the recent years of Kpop.

1. 2NE1 (THE TIMING) - This may not seem like much of a reason, but BLACKPINK filled the void of 2NE1. They had been hiatus since 2015 and disbanded early 2017. So when BLACKPINK debuted in early 2016, its what the Kpop listeners wanted; a girl group that sounded almost like 2NE1. Now, 2NE1 had developed a style that many listeners would recognize right away as the pioneer YG girl group. With BLACKPINK, BOOMBAYAH had almost similar composition as I AM THE BEST and WHISTLE was very close to resembling FIRE. Of course, same company, same composers.

2. THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR BBY - I have seen many debut music videos, some good some bad. But BOOMBAYAH blew me out of the water. It was unlike any other video I had seen. The colors, the camera work, the production value put into a debut video was so over the top that I fell in love. Plus, the girls and the sexy choreography was all I needed to fall in love with them. The dance is so addicting that every Kpop fan probably knows it. WHISTLE gets an achievement as well, topping the Gaon charts when it was first released. The song is probably my favorite out of the five singles so far.

3. THE GIRLS - YG could not have chosen a better looking group of girls for BLACKPINK other then Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé. I mean, check them out! They are all so pretty! Hot, sexy, they got the body and the moves. I can’t stop complimenting them, When they first start their rapping I instantly could not contain myself. I squealed. I am positive I did. Lord, how mercy. I can’t. Fishnets, ripped jeans, combat boots, chains, it’s everything. Ugh. I want to be them! Those voices. They fit all of them so perfectly. I can’t...

4. PROMOTION - YG did a fantastic job on promoting this group. You have to remember, they have five songs. Five! BOOMBAYAH, WHISTLE, PLAYING WITH FIRE, STAY, and their newest single AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST. They wanted their newest girl group to be shining stars and they succeeded! 

My favorite singles so far are:

1. WHISTLE 2. BOOMBAYAH 3.AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST 4. PLAYING WITH FIRE 5. STAY I do not have a bias for the group, but I may have a soft spot for Rosé. A tiny one. I can’t choose who my favorite is, so I love all of BLACKPINK!
