okay so I know that Min said that the songs she associates the cast aren’t canon but what if they were here me out please I’m not insane

so some of these I think are just songs that “yeah that’s that character yup I can see it” but there’s a couple that peaked my interest

Levi, Alejandra, Gadget, Nelly, Rory, Seven, Kester, D.O.M, and Vapor’s songs make sense. Like they’re just straight forward, you can definitely see it(Seven and her need for being the star, Vapor and his tyranny, gadget being a little more on the being bad side, etc). But then there’s RCCK, Gill, Twiggs, and Miss Fortune.

RCCK’s being Farmer Refuted definitely points to him being ‘overthrown’ and maybe at one point of his lore, there was like a sort of revolution between him and his people(I guess?). Miss Fortune being associated with Candle Queen could be pointing to her being a nepo baby(“And you would know a thing or two about that wouldn’t you, Miss nepo baby?” - D.O.M which most DEFINITELY has to be directed to Miss Fortune I mean she’s the only woman there) with the lyrics “Ever since she was a child, she always knew how to get her way… she’s born to play this part.” With Candle Queen, it points to her being self-centered and that’s all the information we have but it’s not enough to properly determine what her actual past lore is.

Gill and Twiggs are a bit more tricky since we know little to nothing but fun facts about them. Ballad of Jane Doe is about being lost, being angry and sad about not knowing who you are, and talking about how cruel the world is. We know that Gill is more of a sadder character so we can’t determine if it means that Gill is lost in who they are or is angry at the world. Now Twiggs(aaaaaa I still am struggling with this part) on the other hand is EVERYWHERE. Drunk is about a guy and he just absolutely chugs down 12 drinks. It’s most likely that this is about Twiggs and his complete chaotic behavior but I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT IT CANT BE THAT SIMPLE AAAAAAAA IT MUST BE SOMETHING WHY DRUNK OF ALL SONGS???? HELP MEEEEEE!!!!!!

Not What He Seems

(Zipped Up Theory)

Ok, so, I’ll preface this with the fact that I am not the biggest Zipped Up fan. I follow the updates casually and generally know most of the lore from @birdbrainedthing (hello whizzer), so I could be missing information or getting information wrong. If I have, I’d very much appreciate a correction, alongside its citation, as I try to get my evidence for theories as accurate as possible. Remember, this is all theorizing, and since Zipped Up hasn’t had their pilot released, all information is subject to change. Please take everything with a grain of salt.

(Also, if you have arguments against this theory or specific pieces of evidence, I’d be thrilled to hear it!)

Oh. And, yes, the name is a Gravity Falls reference.

Now, moving on with the actual theory..

This theory is one following Levi, I believe there is something more to Levi than what meets the eye. Most of the fandom suspects this, from what I’ve seen, but I’m trying to figure out what might really happen.

In Levi’s description, he’s described as “zipper lovin”. While this doesn’t sound as important at first, as majority of the cast is “zipper lovin”. The use of “Good, evil, or just plain wacky.” seems like another odd use of specific language used in writing.

Compared to the descriptions of other characters, him and Gadget seem to be the only ones with a possible ulterior motive because of their seemingly vague moral standpoint.

This may point to him being quite different from, at the very least, Gadget, Nelly, and Alejandra.

Why would the writers have the need to specify this? All of the show’s cast are obviously looking to find zippers, so why is it specified that he loves them?

He clearly has valuable information on the zippers. Gadget is shown to know of information for the zippers, too, but his information on them seem to be proven inaccurate.

(This part is also technically it’s own theory, but still important to mention.) It’s also mentioned that Levi and Gadget met on sheer accident. Does this mean that Gadget possibly met Levi from falling through a zipper portal? They’re in very distinct styles, possibly suggesting they’re from seperate universes. Again, pointing to the fact of Levi having valuable information on the zippers.

So.. Who else loves zippers and has lots of information on them? The villians of the show.

I believe Levi is a twist villian.

And, in this post, Minny, creator of Zipped Up, implies there may be a twist villain in her show. While it’s not directly confirmed and all lore is subject to change, it’s still important to take note of, especially in context of this theory.

I believe it can’t be Gadget, Nelly, or Alejandra as the twist villian.

In this “I Got You” animation posted by Bliptoons, it depicts Alejandra being presumably mindcontrolled or brainwashed by Vapor. While animation memes likely won’t be used as a lore drop for a real show, it’s still very interesting.

If Alejandra does get mindcontrolled or brainwashed in the show, that doesn’t make her a twist villian. A twist villian, by definition, is a character who although seemingly kind and innocent at first, shockingly reveals their true colors as the antagonist.

Being brainwashed or mindcontrolled isn’t “showing your true colors”, it’s being forced into a (usually antagonistic) role outside of your own volition. Though, this logic only really applies if the brainwashing in the show is explicitly shown on screen.

Gadget has already been shown as a grumpy character, hesitant to assist Alejandra and Nelly. It shows that he’s already had a negative opinion on Alejandra and Nelly that has changed into willingness to help.

As for Nelly, it’s already been show that he can take accountability for his actions that have hurt people, which isn’t something a villain would usually do. (Though I could see another argument for now this could make him a villain, but that’s a theory for another time.)

This adds only one person left on the roster who could be a twist villian.. And to drive the nail in the head, let’s talk about his character design and name.

His name is Levi. What could that possibly be an anagram from? Evil. While this is very likely not the case, it’s still interesting.

His hair is covering his eyes. In character design, this is usually used to show a shy, closed off character, or someone who’s hiding something. The hair over his eyes could also be mean to be covering signs of brainwashing. It’s clear in the “I Got You” animation that a brainwashed person’s eyes will change somehow, and the hair could be being used to cover that physical symptom of bring brainwashed.

Kester this, Vapor that, Michael Kovach as a robot allll that, yeah all of those characters are great, but darn it I wanna see more Levi! Look at him!!! He is so adorable and the wander over yonder vibes are going crazy!

I need to draw him and the rest of the gang in their new redesigns for sure, but man I am so excited to see this pilot come to fruition!
