Don't You Just Love Me in Pink? I'm
Drel Surana-Vhenan is a man’s man. A woods man, a true gritty, wolf-like man, who spends a lot of time camping. He hunts, he fishes, Ido swears he can break trees over his knee if he wants to, he’s built enough like one, tall and muscled with a broad chest, long black hair, olive skin…and a roguish smirk when he deigns to use it.
Drel is also flaming as hell and Ido, while holding nothing against him for them, questions his tastes. Drel is stereotypical sometimes, full of sass, had a doctorate in biology (Ido had heard being educated made you gay? He never understood that), and watched a lot of romantic comedies and ‘girl shows’, like Grey’s anatomy. A lot of grey’s anatomy.
And as Ido was learning right now…seemed to enjoy frilly pink dresses.
Honestly it was a very…princessy ball gown. A tight pink (how did something even get that pink?) sleeveless bodice that was stretched against his pectorals, curving in and down into a large gown that fanned out in white lacy frills past Drel’s feet and to the ground. The bodice was covered in white jewels and Drel was topping it off by placing a silver tiara with a giant, pink of course, jewel in it.
Well, at least Ido knew what to treat him to for his birthday.
“Babe?” Ido’s tone was gently prodding. He’d known Drel was a bit flamboyant but this took the cake by far. Not that Ido was complaining or criticizing, oh no, just a bit…confused.
“Oh! I…um…I mean…it was there and…pretty…and it…”
Ido raised his hands in surrender as he watched Drel’s skin flush from his fairly exposed chest to the tips of his ears. Drel stammered when he was nervous, Ido always tried to sooth the crippling anxiety the best way he knew how, hands raised and open for Drel to take them if he wished. He always did. He did right now, placing large hands in Ido’s smaller ones.
“It’s fine honey, it’s quite fetching on you, just not something I’d have thought of for you.”
Drel took a breath in for four counts, held it for another four, let it out for four, and held for another four, he repeated this a few times, Ido stroking the rhythm with his thumb into the back of Drel’s hands while he calmed down. Drel would get anxious quickly, unable to calm down, and Ido had learned the best ways to help him, he and Juo only wanted to see him smile.
Their boyfriend deserved no less.
“My mom and uncle would take me shopping when he came to town. We started in the boy’s section but always wandered into the woman’s and girls…my mom always preffered jeans but Uncle Drion really liked skirts and dresses…something about feeling free…I didn’t really get it but I…I wanted to try…”
Ido gently wrapped an arm around him, trying not to move the tiara much when his head hit his shoulder.
“Is this the twin or…?”
“No, their little brother. Got married recently. Aunt Fey is an amazing woman, and she helped pick this amazing dress for my uncle for their wedding. He was always more…elegant and simple in his tastes…but I tried on this frilly tutu thing and I just…I loved them…”
Ido smiled, thinking of a little black haired boy running around in a tutu, did he have a fairy wand and wings? It was adorable.
So honestly, this dress was too.
“C'mon, we’re buying this!”
“What?”
“You love it, and you look amazing in it, I’m buying it for you.”
Drel was wide eyed. Ido knew he had supportive parents but some not so supportive boyfriends…and as usual, Ido immediately wanted to punch said boyfriends in the throat.
When they stepped out to show Juo, he only raised a brow before smiling and kissing him gently. “Never looked sexier really.” He grinned, but of course was hard pressed. He had of course, also seen Drel in a well fitted tux that curved just so around very strong arms, but this was a very large tie.
Drel smiled at them both with gratitude and adoration. The youngest of the three had only been with them for half a year, and while integrating a third person into Ido and Juo’s five year long relationship had been difficult, it was completely worth it.
He had to take it off to buy it, but the second they got home he put it right back on again, grinning from ear to ear.
Ido had never seen anything more beautiful in his life.
