How long had it been since he had taken up a semi-permanent residence anywhere? Tobias had to assume it was over a year since he had settled down in one place, too many jobs had kept him moving and his penchant to make...less than favorable impressions left him with less friends than he cared to admit. However, this time he had landed a long term watch duty, something that left him feeling a bit warm and fuzzy. It had brought back some good memories, short lived as though those times were.
Making his nightly rounds of the town, he stopped when he spotted a figure he assumed to belong to a young girl. Ever the cautious one, his hand drifted to the hilt of his sword as he approached the figure. Rolling his neck, Tobias called out in what he hoped was a tone filled with authority, “Oi! It’s a bit late out, what’s a young one like you doing out this late?”
