WIP WEDNESDAY
One of my current WIP's is a fic series for @bllkrarepairweek, a fantasy AU with King Barou x Assassin Otoya. The series will consist of one-shots that readers are not required to read in order. So far, I came up with ideas for 6 out of the 7 days. The only day I haven't come up with anything is Day 4.
Here's a snippet from my Day 1 fic (Forced Proximity), which sets the tone for the rest of the series.
“Who do we have here?” Barou rumbled, “You, the one who tried to kill me?” Otoya shook his head as he desperately tried to maintain his cool. But it was difficult because of the excruciating pain in his leg. And that betrayal. Weeks earlier, Otoya along with Karasu and Hiori were given the greatest, most monumental goal of their lives—to assassinate the neighboring kingdom’s reigning tyrant, King Barou. In return, they will receive a life’s worth of riches, fame, and freedom. Freedom was the most important to them because they were once all poor commoners whose families carry lifetimes worth of sins and debts to their kingdom. Forever enslaved to their king who can be as tyrannical and merciless as King Barou at times. Once Barou is down, their kingdom can expand, flourish, and gain more riches in new territory while avoiding war and other unnecessary conflicts. That way, innocent lives will be saved, and important infrastructure will remain steadfast. While playing this game with their own lives on the line, these three must assassinate Barou or else. Their king refused to accept any failure. Only success. A win by bringing him home the trophy of Barou’s own heart, bloodless and shriveled while wrapped up within his blood-soaked red cloak. Yes, his mighty black and red crown would be nice to take home, too. But that’s for whoever wins this assassination game. Does it even matter anymore? Is it over already?

this may be an unfair question, but i've been wondering if there was any possibility of making a sort of exception to the 100 fics or less rule? there are a handful of ships that would qualify for rpw, but the only reason they're over that threshold is because one person has written over a hundred fics alone for that ship.
i totally understand if those ships still wouldn't be allowed, i was just curious! thank you for all the hard work you guys do to run this event ❤️
Hello!
Unfortunately no, we will not make an exception. The 'otp:true' rule exists to ensure that the fics being counted actually focus on the ship in question but once a ship has over 100 fics under that filter, it is ineligible regardless of who is writing those fics or in what language they're written.
Also if someone is writing hundreds of fics for their rarepair, kudos to them 👏 that kind of dedication is impressive and inspiring and we would never want to discount someone's hard work.
We hope you will still take part in the event even if it's not with the ship you had in mind!
