We have gone over a staggering amount of Super Paper Mario enemies... but the Super Paper Mario FRIENDS are a gold mine of untapped potential! Just look at a Blobule! I love this thing. Though it’s made of incredibly simple shapes, it’s nevertheless a striking design thanks to the placement of the facial features, which I think is always a huge victory in a character design! Just look at SpongeBob. He may seem simple, but he’s not just a wee simple sponge, each and every one of his features is instantly recognizable on its own!
Maybe I’m giving Blobules too much credit, but I don’t care, because I love them! And there are THREE to love! This blue one is Blarfle.
And this yellow one is Blollop! I really don’t have much to say about the individual Blobules since they’re just here to make the planet feel more lived in, but I think you should know about them, because their names are just as good as their designs.
And finally, we have Blappy, who has all the tell-tale signs of an elderly cartoon character. Hunched over, wrinkly lips (get your mind out of the gutter), bushy eyebrows, and Old Person Spots!
Blappy is the most notable of the Blobules and is known to be a bit greedy, selling ancient writings that he copies from space relics. But you’re going to need to haggle with him, because if you want Fleep the Pixl to join you, you’re gonna have to bring him some toilet paper!
