Music Review: BLOCKBUSTA by Busta Rhymes
This record is probably Busta Rhymes worst record, but it's still okay. Barring a few tracks, most of the songs on this records deviate from his singature jazz rap/boom bap or neptunes-esc sound into a trap sound, that is significantly less compelling than production on earlier albums. Busta also doesn't don his classic fast, hypnotic flows. Some exceptions are "BIG EVERYTHING," "SLIDE," and "LUXURY LIFE." Flipmode brings lots of features that vary in quality onto this record, including Coi Leray, Dababy, Giggs, Blackway and JNR CHOI. Busta Rhymes himself probably only raps for about 2/5 of the album. The bulk ofthese features are painfully mediocre, but Busta Rhymes' bars stoop back down to this level on tracks where the features are bad\
