If you can't build a tower tall, build it long. . . Our toddler was playing with the blocks yesterday, building a tall tower. But then due to the full-blast stand fan that was located nearby, his tall tower repeatedly fell. . . He rebuilt his tower everytime it fell down, without throwing any tantrums. Emotional control checked ✔ . He wasn't even get mad at the fan. Blaming control checked ✔ . . After a few fail attempts, he started working on it differently. He arranged the blocks flat, and called it a "tower". Think outside the box checked ✔ . . Now this just reminds me of how Japan has adapted their buildings to stand for earthquakes. Or how Netherlands has adapted their buildings to face the flood. Hopefully one day he'll be somebody that can contribute to the nation 😊 . . #simplemomjourney #momlife #toddler #blocks #blockplay #homeschooling #roadschooling #educatingaydeen https://www.instagram.com/p/B7hv9DxhNhW/?igshid=1k0yatglv1jsc
So this happened in the preschool room yesterday. I am so in awe of this engineering. It was also a group of girls too. The level of complexity has deepened over the past couple of months too. This makes me so proud of the children and the educators who have been enabling this type of work to evolve. #girlpower💪 #looseparts #loosepartstheory #learnthroughplay #loosepartsplay #positioningschema #reggioemiliaapproach #preschoollearning #earlychildhoodeducation #earlyyears #blockplay

Blocks are perhaps one of the most versatile toys out there.
Blocks are perhaps one of the most versatile toys out there.
They come in a range of shapes, sizes and colours and this makes them the ideal tool to teach new skills and reinforce the old ones, like numeracy. Use them to teach sequencing, patterning, comparing, measurement, fractions, symmetry and so much more!
