Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I don't know how to change the colour for mobile though. On desktop they're a kind of rusty red, but if anyone knows how to make them more visible for the mobile settings, please get in touch!

No Worries, I’m Still Alive

Good Gods, it’s been a while since I post anything on here, hasn’t it? 

I do apologize about that, especially to the three or four people still waiting on their free Shufflemancy readings from me. I apologize about keeping you all waiting so long for them too.

Things have just been difficult for me here on Tumblr to say the least. From what I can tell, Tumblr is going through some changes, a number of them seem to be changes regarding accessibility, and I am honestly very pleasantly suprised at some of the changes I’ve been noticing lately, as most of the changes seem to be steps in the right direction, at least in regards of accessibility. Or at least that’s how things seem so right now.

Of course, while most things seem more accessible now, there are some things that seem to be affected in a negative way as well, causing other aspects of this site’s accessibility to go side ways for lack of a better term. 

So I’m taking my time to feel out all of the specifics, the up’s and down’s of how things have changed; be it improvements or degeration. 

Hopefully I’ll be able to start posting again here soon. I know my activity on here has been sparse since the beginning of the year and I apologize for that as well. Most of my time has been spent taking care of my family while getting over and finding an even keel after getting myself out of a sticky situation regarding a relationship that was brief but emotionally and mentally abusive  towards the end. 

I’m hoping that all of you, my friends and readers, are doing well despite the pandemic we find ourselves smack dab in the middle of. Until next time!

[btw! for anyone who didn’t know about this, those pink-highlighted words in my blog description on mobile are actually links that you can use to get to my rules/bio pages! They work on both desktop and mobile, so if you want a quick, easy way to get to my pages, they’re there for you to use!

it’s actually super easy to create those links! This was where I learned how for anyone else who wants to do this on their own blog. You just copy/paste the provided line of HTML into your description, replace the URL in quotes with the URL for whatever page (or post!) you want the link to go to, and replace the text after it with whatever word/s you want the link to show up as! Here’s an example of how the HTML looks in your description on the theme editor once you set it up:

So far the only problem I’ve had with it is that if you try to mess with the way your mobile blog looks (like by changing the colors and stuff), it removes the HTML and you have to re-paste it. But otherwise it’s a really easy way to make your blog more accessible and I highly recommend giving it a try!]

Hellhound heard there was some discussion about the new icon and thought that Little Ghosti is perhaps getting too big for his ectoplasmic boots. Hellhound has therefore informed me that he’s on his way back from his holiday on the sandy shores of Hell and will be insisting that he be reinstated as my blog’s icon/avatar upon return. 🔥🐺🍸🔥

But he’s got a long way to go from the fires of Hell, so Little Ghosti will be chilling in my icon frame for a little while longer. :) 🌟👻📔🖋🌟

Seriously though, thanks for all your input and asks and comments etc. On a similar note, if you ever need me to change something about my blog format or story post formats from an accessibility point of view (I’ve recently changed my long string of asterisks at the end of a story to just three hyphens after learning that screen readers apparently read out every single asterisk which is understandably a huge pain to listen to), then do get in touch! I want this blog to work for you. X

Today it’s the turn of the green colour scheme (edited to be a bit less green this time). That was the second most popular option, so it’s only fair that I trail that too.

Blog colour changes...

I’m going to be tinkering with the colours on my blog a bit today after someone mentioned that the black and white was too high-contrast. I know other folks have said they like it, and some have said it’s too harsh, so I’ll do a few tests and put some options to the vote.

Your feedback on blog accessibility is always important. My dad is almost completely blind, so I know how important it can be to have things that are easy to read and access, and how frustrating it can be when things aren’t accessible easily.
