No, seriously, stop sending Me instant Mmessages on Tumblr, because I hate the instant messaging system on this website, and I refuse to use it unless I absolutely have to. For the first time in what? Half a year, I decided to check the messages section on the Tumblr app, only to discover that I have a ton of messages. This is frustrating because I hate Tumblr's messaging system, but there's no way for Me to turn it off. @staff how about You give us features that will make this website more pleasant than the frivolous drivel that You keep forcing down Our throats most of the time?

Anyway, I realize that I haven't said this in a while, but seriously People: Don't. Send. Me. Instant. Messages. On. Tumblr! Because I will ignore that in a heartbeat.

This Air is Kicking My Ass

Ugh, the Air Quality is kicking My Ass hardcore. Well, today is turning out less problematic then what it was Yesterday. Yesterday I was coughing up a Lung while getting hit with all kinds of Asthma attacks. I had to cancel the game I was running because I couldn't talk.

I'm still getting hit with it today, though it seems to be lightening up. So hopefully things will go back to being normal soon.

I actually thought I was going to have to go to the Hospital yesterday when I realized I ran out of My current Inhailor. Only to find two spares I forgot I had on hand, both of which were still mostly full. Thank the Gods!

Well, by this Wheel, I am unable to play Video Games for a week. Which is hilarious, because I haven't played mainstream Video Games since 2008. I mean, yeah, Accessibility has come a long way since then, but I still can't play any of the Console games that I would love to play.

Yes, there are video games out there that are specifically made for the Blind, but in My opinion most of them are kind of Meh at best, which is why I tend to avoid most of them most of the time.

10 reminders for disability pride month.

1. there will always be someone more severely affected by their disability than you are, this does not mean you aren't disabled, or that your struggles aren't real. these disabled people are not your enemy.

2. visibly disabled people are not treated better than invisibly disabled people, there are different struggles to both.

3. visibly & severely disabled people are not lucky for being visibly disabled or severely disabled. this belief is ableist.

4. we all need to keep the more severely disabled people in mind, they are the most vulnerable & this is disability justice 101.

5. there will always be severely disabled people in public, you absolutely need to work on your discomforts about the conditions/aids/symptoms/behaviours they might have; drooling, incontinence, "odd" behaviours, visible differences, use of AAC etc. this is a you problem, not a them problem.

6. there will always be symptoms of disabilities that you don't approve of; zero social awareness, cognitive impairments, violent meltdowns, strong smells & loud noises, being nonverbal/semiverbal etc. no one can force you to like it, but you cannot be cruel to them regardless of your opinions, again, this is a you problem & not a them problem.

7. you can still be ableist even if you yourself are disabled, this isn't always internalised, it can also be outright ableism.

8. caregivers of severely disabled people often play an important role in disability spaces, try not to *immediately* discount their experiences, unless they're truly over stepping, are being factually incorrect/uneducated or ableist. (caregivers can come with unique problems in disability spaces, 100%, but they are not inherently bad)

9. severely disabled people will have experiences you do not have, it is not an attack on you when these experiences are talked about.

10. “people wouldn’t say [ableist thing] to a wheelchair user” yes they would and yes they do.

and yes, some of these things that i've mentioned still applies to less severely disabled people, but goes especially for severely disabled people who often experience these things the most. be kind, be compassionate.

I'm always looking for new Etsy shops to follow and support. I went ahead and bought the Summer Solstice Soap, as well as the Fairy and Winter Solstice roll on Oils. I'm glad that this shop sells oils in roll on bottles. I'm liking the shop so far, though I'm not a fan of the inconsistancy with the item descriptions. The oils are listed in detail, but not so much the soap.

I got hit with enough smoke last night for a little bit that it caused a major Asthma attack. Thankfully it only lasted for a little bit. While They come and go throughout the year, They tend to hit Me more in the Winter than anything else. Mine situation is more akin to Allergic Asthma, though that's not entirely accurate, and I can only imagine the suffering that Those with the full fledged thing, or who suffer from other breathing conditions, are dealing with right now. Everything seems to be okay to day, or at least it seems so, so far. We're under an air quality alert for the next few days, so I'm not going outside except to take Lucy out to use the bathroom.

as someone with ARFID i really couldn't care less about the distinction between "picky eaters" and "genuine eating issues." if you are an asshole to someone you see as "just picky" i will never, ever trust you. i've lived through the trauma of being shamed and humiliated for my eating needs.

frankly i think a LOT of "picky eaters" have some kind of sensory problems– autistic or allistic– and shame is never useful. i don't fucking care how annoying you think we are. if you've never lived through the humiliation of being the only one not eating at a dinner table, or having to choke down something disgusting you already know you hate because other people insist you don't know your own body, or getting a hunger migraine in a house full of food because none of its edible to you? you don't understand how awful it is to have food issues.

whenever i see people draw this distinction between being "just a picky eater" and "having a real problem" all i think is, who does this serve? most people don't even know ARFID exists. there are so many undiagnosed autistics, or just people with a variety of issues that aren't officially diagnosed. why do we need a medical label in order to be treated with respect and compassion? why did i need to be diagnosed as autistic for my family to realize the abuse they put me through for years because of my eating habits?

it's such an easy habit for neglected groups to fall into– the idea that a medical diagnosis can save us. that by appealing to the medical/psychiatric industry, we can be protected from abuse and given basic respect and resources. but the truth is that it should never have come to this in the first place. dignity doesn't come from an abled doctor telling you that there's a medical reason for your symptoms. it comes from being a person. once you accept that you need a Good Reason to have your needs respected, you doom yourself to neglecting and abusing those who have your same struggles because they aren't lucky enough to access medical recognition.

tl;dr solidarity with all "picky eaters" stop guilting people for having varying food needs, if we make you irrationally angry that's YOUR problem not ours, and abolish "children's menus" & replace them with simple-food / small-portion menus for people of all ages

No, but that's because the lock on My Bathroom door doesn't work. I don't think it's worked in close to twenty years or so. I have no idea why No One fixed it. But honestly, I live alone, and the only Person who is going to follow Me in the Bathroom is My Cat Aidan.

Hell, I won't even close the Bathroom door if I'm home alone, or in the past when I was living with a Partner. That partly comes from a particular aspect of a subset of Blind culture. But anyway, the only time the Bathroom door is closed here is when there's more People than Myself present.

I Hate Spotify, Why are You Following Me?

Okay, I'm finally going through the Email notifications in My Tumblr folder on Outlook, and I noticed a couple of new People are following Me. So, I took a quick look at one of Them, as I always do when Someone follows Me on here, and I notice that They are mostly advertizing Music on Spotify.

I'm totally baffled by this. I mean, if You delve through My Blog, You'll discover that I hate Streaming. I can't over emphasize how strongly I hate Streaming. I think I could easily quote AM from I have No Mouth and I Must Scream on the intensity of hatred I hold for streaming.

And out of all of the streaming Platforms I hate, I hate Spotify the fucking most. I hate Spotify so damned much that I will gleefully dance on it's burning grave the day it finally falls apart, laughing like The Joker all along the way. I. Hate. Spotify!

So, I have no idea on why You are following Me. Maybe You read a couple of the posts I've made previously where I talk about My love for Music in one form or another? I don't know, though that's totally fair if that turns out to be the case. All I'm saying is You have come to the worst Person imaginable if You thought You could get Me into checking out Your Music that way.
