I'm noticing that a lot of fics have AI images in the text. Kinda like fanart to accompany the story. At the end of the day, that still is generative AI, which we don't support here. So if I accidentally post a story that has these images (because I cannot go through chapter by chapter of each fic I post here), please let me know so I can remove that particular post. Thanks!

Over the past few months I've been learning to bake. Mainly sourdough, but also cakes, muffins, cookies. It took me 11 tries, 11 TRIES to make a decent batch of muffins. I made THE PERFECT SOURDOUGH and then I made 2 bad ones. Baking is a great example that not only does practice make perfect, but also that mistakes are acceptable. I've learnt that making mistakes whether in baking or in personal relationships, career choices, failing tests, there is gold. To reach perfection, symbiosis, balance, mistakes are necessary. The age old saying there is no light without darkness holds its power. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, embrace them, celebrate them, and celebrate yourself. For having courage to bake again. ❤️

THE TAGS ARE FINALLY FIXED!!!

I'm so SO happy to share that I fixed the tags -- you can now finally navigate through the tags!

I'm going to use this opportunity to do a friendly reminder to help us tag! 🥹

If you have read the fics you see posted here and come across something in the story that should have been tagged, we welcome you to message us or reply to the original post with the missing tags. The main things we want to make sure are posted:

Warnings: Rape, torture, dubcon, suicide, or a major character death (i.e. Hermione or Severus)

Plot Device: Marriage Law, Potions Accident, Detention, Apprenticeship (just to name a few)

Timeline/Location: Post Hogwarts, Post War, 7th year, etc. or Italy, Granger House, Grimmauld Place, etc.

Side-Characters/Character Bashing: Is Ginny pertinent to the plot? Is Lucius Malfoy a super-bad dude?

Side-Pairings/Past Relationships: Do Harry and Draco show up a lot? Are Ginny and Blaise essential to the plot? Did Ron and Hermione have a thing for a while in the beginning of the story?

Character Attributes: Is Hermione super-confident? Is she injured in the story? Is Snape a playboy? Did he de-age in the fic? Are either of them rich? pureblood? dark?

While posting these fics has inspired me to get back in the ship, and I’ve gone back and tagged fics I’ve been reading, I cannot, unfortunately, read them all. Your help would be greatly appreciated in making this site easier to navigate and fics easier to find and recommend.

A Note from the Moderators

Recently we got a message in our inbox from a follower about the content of the blog that we’d like to address. The follower was very polite with their comments, and we hope to be equally as polite with the response.

The follower was concerned that there has been a change in tone for the blog. While we’re unsure that’s true, we do want to reiterate the purpose of the blog since it’s helpful to do so every now and again.

This blog was started around 2016 in order to be an extension of the @dramioneasks Thoughts and Opinions page. (All of the moderators for this blog are also moderators for that blog. It has never been intended to be a personal page.) It was started because we were getting a lot of really cool opinions and fancasts on that page, and then people would reply to them with other really cool opinions and fancasts (in what we think of as a “topic cycle”), and we didn’t want that to get in the way of our ability to share some really cool fics with our followers.

That’s what seems to be happening right now on this blog. Some participants have made different comments about a couple of topics in particular (namely Hermione as a POC and anti-Ron), and we--as a group--seem to be cycling through those topics. These are discussions that the fandom in general is having, and the reason we created this blog was to help people be able to vent about them. But we, as moderators, are also humans and also fans, and we also have opinions that we want to share, so sometimes we include our own take. That will not change for this blog.

What we’ve established from the beginning is that there is not supposed to be any hatorade on this blog. (Hatorade is an amalgamation of the words hate and gatorade, which has been in slang use since at least 2008.) It’s okay if you want to share an opinion, even an unpopular one. We love lively discussions. What’s not okay is to call other members of other fandoms, or specific authors, or other Dramione fans, or the moderators, or basically anyone a name. It’s not okay to describe any group by disparaging adjectives. We are all smarter than that and able to come up with more accurate vocabulary to talk about our feelings and opinions.

We love serving you in this role as moderators. We love participating in discussion with you. We ask for patience as we wade through certain topics of conversation as they go through a dominant topic cycle, and we ask you to be kind to others as you interact with our blog.
