On a recent Walmart run with my daughters, I came across a very unfortunate incident. On our way in, we happened to walk passed a Chevy SSR (which on it's own right looked like it was designed either by a blind lumberjack or this guy). But what was notable on this that this... thing... was not only covered in promotional material, but for that of some local catering company. This piqued my interest though... Beyond the tackiness that was visually apparent, the callouts to what this company could provide sent a much clearer message. They did weddings, private functions... and '100 mile dinners'.
Now... on a previous food-blogging venture, I sought to really focus and improve my cooking skills on this notion of a '100 mile dinner' concept. 100k really helped propel my understanding of what food can do and how to best prepare it. However, after it going strong for several months to ensue... Things started to get in the way. Life/Work really started to capitalize not only in time, but in mental bandwidth. Tech also became a barrier with me trying to introduce Wordpress into the equation, and eventually started to become way too much upkeep. At this point, a hiatus grew and I have since touched it. But after seeing what I saw, I recognized that I'm no longer on the bleeding edge. The sheer concept of being a lemming to this growing trend didn't feel right. As well... My interests and desires in food have been growing, and I'm finding that as I continue to learn, the 100k concept is simply not condusive to what I need/want to do.
As a result of all of this, I say ENOUGH to this tom-food-ery (see what I did there?)! I've decided to really take a step back and focus on what I really need and want to do, which is to learn and eat as much awesome food as possible. So here we are. No more fluff, no more challenges. What you get now is all of the amazing stuff I am able to shovel into my mouth. I'll take pictures of it (like these guys), I'll eat it, I'll decompose it (as in tell you what was in it.. perv.) and I'll more than likely tell you how awesome it is. That's it. Enjoy.
NOTE: I'm allergic to shit food... so good luck finding any of that here.
