Alexander Hamilton has seen hell and come out of it, in the last eighteen years. Between his drunk, abusive father, his dead mother, and the foster families he’s had to endure since, a college such as this always seemed so impossible, let alone finding someone willing to put up with the baggage of his past. But on arrival, he quickly finds himself tightly entangled with his French roommate’s friend; and finds that maybe, even after it all, there’s someone that he can hold onto.

Or the one where Alex has a complicated past, John Laurens could be a complicated future, and college makes a mess of even the best of people.

I’m sorry for the lack of content from me, I’ve just been really unhappy/depressed for a long time and it’s hard to find/put energy into doing what I love nowadays. I’ve made some New Year’s Resolutions that I hope to challenge myself to follow through with so I can get farther along in my WIP and have content to post, but alas...mental health is unpredictable 💔

I’m going to think of some sort of little present because I think that’s customary, but I’m working on an exam project all week so it’ll be a little while.

yo, it seems like i’ve got more new followers than lately (? i honestly can’t imagine why the quality of this blog has really gone downhill lol) so WELCOME!!! and consider this an introduction to me & this shitty blog. 

if you are a minor, this would be the time to bow out gracefully. nothing personal; i’m sure you’re great. but i do not have the constitution for prison. 

i’m julian. i’m 29. i’m bi but often use queer because i think it indicates more of a radical view on sex, relationships, and gender as well as being indicative of where my attractions lie. i am a white cis woman but hopefully not a White Cis Woman(tm) (i do my best). i have bipolar. i’m a birdwatcher. i like long drives. i’m a big stoner and have a fondness for tequila, straight up. i’ve lived in austin, texas, for eight years but am originally from the kansas city, kansas area.

i write destiel fanfiction and have recently got into the sterek thing so i’m sure i will write some of that eventually. here is a link to my ao3 (sharkfish). if you haven’t read any of my stories before, i would start with traveling light or a dangerous thing (if you’re into non-mpreg abo). 

for rambles about stuff i’ve written, stuff i will write, sneak-peaks, ficlets i haven’t published to ao3 yet, and occasionally my real shitty poetry, check out the sharkwrites tag. 

i obviously have amazing taste so check out my bookmarks on ao3 -- these are fics i love enough to read over and over. for more recs of stuff i really enjoyed but did not make my bookmarks list for whatever reason, see the sharkrecs tag. i try to tag these at least with the pairing so you can block the ones that don’t interest you.

this is a mostly wank-free space. if i’m talking shit on someone, it’s because they are someone i adore and they (hopefully) know i am just teasing in good fun. i mostly don’t care what celebrities do in their life and i’m spendin too much time being obsessed with dean/cas and derek/stiles to spend time worrying about characters i dislike, and i respect other people’s right to love them even if i want to punch them in their stupid faces.

another thing that doesn’t interest me much is canon. if canon were satisfying, i wouldn’t be messing around with fanfiction. (there are many shows/books/etc i fucking love that i will never read fic of because i can’t imagine anything being better than what i already have.) 

my favorite book(s) are stephen king’s the dark tower series (i have tattoos!!) and maggie stiefvater’s the scorpio races. i am also very fond of pratchett. i don’t really like movies. i’ve been listening to the same music since i was 17 so that means mostly lucero and bright eyes. i am also real obsessed with (don’t) fear the reaper and the logical song. favorite tv includes firefly, friday night lights, the walking dead, it’s always sunny in philadelphia. 

tagging: uhh basically i use the tags for real dumb comments (other than the ones mentioned above), but i do try to tag for major triggers (though i generally try to avoid un-fun topics on this blog in general). i am really good at tagging: suicide, rape, sexual assault (--i use both tags on posts that deal with this to increase the chance it’ll be caught by your blocklist), racism, self harm. i am slightly less good at tagging (but i try): weed, drugs, alcohol, bipolar. i do NOT tag spoilers. 

@fanforfanatic is one of my best friends and you have basically entered the fanforfanatic fan club blog. our ship name is fanfish.
