Hello! I've really loved the Blonde Blazer!Flambae ideas you've been writing. The songfic is right up my alley, as well as Blondie crying for his Rober, lmao, all flavours of this are so fun!
1. I fully recommend the song by Kidforce - "Brunettes (Do It Better)". That's like an anthem for that whole prototype situation.
2. To throw more ideas in the mill: Prototype!Blazer hanging around Robert and going off his knowledge of his world's Robert to get along. It's a hit-or-miss most times, but some things just LAND 100% and Robert's a little freaked out by the fact that now there's someone who knows that much about him, even though he doesn't know the dude at all. He's also speedrunning self-discovery in big and small ways, because Blazer brought him some limited edition of Twinkies from a fancy store, because he "likes chocolate filling best" and guess what, he does and he was none the wiser.
3. One day, due to hard shift and the Z-Team being one member down, Prototype!Blazer gets a green light to go out and do hero stuff. Flambae is delighted by the prospect of troubles two pyromaniacs can cause for bitch dispatcher. It quickly turns out that Proto!Blazer has QUITE THE SYNERGY with Robert, like, able to anticipate his directions and stuff, and he's getting points like no tomorrow (even if not counted), and Robert just repeatedly goes, "Oh, uh... Good job, BB. Very good job."
You can pinpoint the exact radio silence after yet another comment like that when the entirety of Z-Team decides that Blonde Bitch has to go.
4. If we assume that the suit has been restored and Robert is able to do the dirty work when push comes to the shove ("Release the dispatcher!"), plz imagine Blazer and Robert being out there, and Blondie enthuses, "Are we doing Fired Loins?!!" "What- what is that?!"
So Blondie explains and it turns out that prototype!Robert started to augment his suit to be buffed by members of the team; so far, it's only BB's augment, and after firing up the suit, it can go at 140% power or something.
They improvise, against risk concerns of everyone else, and it works. Robert is blown away by the sheer vision of augmenting his suit, as well as by the effect the fire buff had on it, and he's babbling into the speaker "Oh, wow, oh, wow, BB, oh wow--!"
BB: "Ah, just like at home!"
Flambae needs Prism and Waterboy to hold him back from committing murder.
The reason why #Flambert is still superior and not #Blazerbert is that BB makes Robert concerningly trigger-happy, prone to taking risks, which works in Prototype!world but NOT in this one. The guy doesn't need more incentives to think it's a good idea to sacrifice himself. Flambae works like a steadying force because he's been down that path, while BB encourages what should not be encouraged because "Robert has always been fine". Yet, before everyone discovers that, there is so much potential for flaming rivalry and Robert having some genuine fun~
2. Robert does not like being known so intimately. It makes him so uncomfortable. He doesn’t volunteer this information to anyone, so why does someone from another universe know this? It’s so much worse when it’s something Robert didn’t even know about himself
3. He’s unfortunately a really good hero. Great on his own, even better after Robert’s figured out how to dispatch him properly. It sucks that he’s good at pretty much any kind of mission, too. The Z-Team do not like being upstaged. They do not like the idea that Robert’s comparing them to this show-off (in his head, ofc, because he’s not saying anything like that aloud). They do not like Robert complimenting this asshole because those compliments belong to them
4. I always imagine Robert patrols after his dispatching shifts, but honestly, it’d upset the Z-Team more to learn Robert and Blondbae are spending even more time together after-hours. Lowered crime rates be damned, they are not letting this bitch earn brownie points with their bitch
But I can totally see that being the difference. Proto!Robert was at the same level of health as Robert in the beginning, but he had the determination to get better, especially when he took on a mentor (read: father) role over his Courtney and Herm. Our Robert doesn’t. He’s still in a bad place, and he needs Flambae and the Z-Team to inspire him to get better. He does not need Blondbae encouraging his bad habits because he’s misinformed on where this Robert is on the healing journey
