Dirt tries to appear as non-threatening as possible. After all, he wanted this Astarion fellow to know that he was on his side. A few days prior, Dirt had bumped into a monster hunter named Gandrel. Wary as they were about Vampires, Dirt's hatred for monster hunters ran deeper than their distrust of vampires.
❝Apologies,❞ says the tiefling. ❝My name is Dirt.❞
He is unsure if he should reveal more of his nature to the pale elf. After all, if this wasn't Astarion they were already off to a bad start... not wanting to make an ass of himself he takes a breath and gets straight to the point.
❝There is a man in these woods searching for one named Astarion. One who fits your description,❞ they say gravely. ❝I may be a rogue but this is not a bounty I wish to collect.❞
It was purely coincidental that the two had crossed paths, but Dirt didn't feel right not warning the alleged vampire spawn of such a man. He hadn't contemplated killing Gandrel at the time, especially at the risk of injury. But now a new idea formed in his fragmented mind...if he and Astarion teamed up to kill Gandrel, perhaps the vampire spawn would accompany him in ridding him of his parasite. Either that, or he might have information about it.
