Combining Red Wood Expansion with the lycan form is forbidden to younger Bloodhunters. Practiced only by those strong enough and practiced enough to resist the voice of the Wolf and the intoxication of physical strength.
Exiting the lycan form while enlarged is messy. It’s theorized that the ritual of regurgitation helps to separate the mind and body of the Bloodhunter from it’s summoned avatar. Those who cannot let go of their lycan forms are at risk of loosing their identities and succumbing to feral atavistic instincts.

I have a lot of feelings about this piece. I almost didn’t post it. Ultimately Bloodhunters are an important part of my D&D campaign and are something I have put a lot of thought into and want to share.
