dying was exhausting. no matter how many times he does it, it never gets easier. coming back to life. the only thing that ever made it easier was her. he couldn’t explain it, though he imagined it was something similar to the way nicky and joe always looked for one another right after waking up. like in that split second, right before taking your first breath all that mattered was seeing the person you cared about. he’d never understood it until now. until he found himself dragging himself to her doorstep and all but collapsing against her. she was the closest thing to comfort that he’d ever known. her bathroom was a mess. specks of blood that he’d tried to clean off himself marring the otherwise pristine cleanliness of her sink. when the door creaked open a moment later, he turned to give her a somewhat apologetic smile . ❝ i’ll clean it, ❞ he promised, nodding his gratitude as she set him aside some fresh clothes. he was still covered in blood, bullet-turn shirt laying in a heap on the ground as he turned to look at her. ❝ thank you. for everything. again. ❞ / @bloodmirrored + old guard things !
