' @bloodroad's voice cuts through the late day yawn like a gunshot. the heat's getting to her some, beating down on the brim of her hat & trickling a long drawn of perspiration down her neck. sam -- reign -- peels the kerchief away from her nose & mops the column of her throat. she doesn't wear the look of a kindly sort when she does.

her lip's a sharp sneer ( she's learned to put that on for situations like this -- they beg for it ) & when she traipses a boot forward, it's with her hand moseyed down to the handle of her gun in its holster. she reaches with a motion, fingers curling close to the trigger & hitching it like she might use it.

" drag him here by his necktie if you have to. " she kicks her chin up, motioning for it. " or send someone else to do it. i want to get out here before dark. " ( she wants to get home, to ruby, to be sam ; this act's getting more fatigued than she is, sweat catching under her arms at this hour of the afternoon. she just wants to be herself again ). still, she lets that sharp brow scathe, challenging. " ---- what? i didn't make myself clear? "

Update Time - After letting it simmer for a bit on the back burner I'm returning to my next round of rewrites for Cross The Line Book 2: "Blood Road" before sending it off to my amazing editor. Book 3 is in the plotting/layout stage right now and will be very different in tone while research for Book 4 has begun. Finally, some news about expanded distribution for Cross The Line Book 1 is forthcoming.
