    To any outside observer, the streetside view of a random guy with whitish hair eating from a take-out box and then offering said box out to a seemingly random passing woman would maybe be strange or maybe normal for the city, but the look in the guy’s eyes suggested that this was an abrupt-but-not-necessarily-well-studied attempt at a very important greeting.

         “Want some?”
