       The taste of copper filled her mouth as she sat in the tub. Lukewarm water dripping over her skin, drenching her red soaked clothing. Hair caked in dried blood that was starting to soften once more with the help of the running water. 

         It barely registered when a cloth was brought to her cheek in favor of washing away some of the blood splatters that were there. It wasn’t her own, not by a long shot. A mix between those that had opposed her and some of her own men. Two bodies would need to be buried. One had no family outside of the gang. The other had a younger sister that he had been sending money too. She would need to make sure that she would be taken care of in his stead. 

           Crimson slowly turned, silent, to gaze at the woman. Red lipstick smeared across her cheek from vain attempted earlier to clean the blood off herself. 

                                           ❝ Why are ya helping me. .  ? ❞

           Word’s finally spilled free after a long silent stare. Why? Why help her?
