Make delightful flower pot cookies that are as much fun to make as they are to eat. These bright and creative cookies are ideal for garden-themed parties or any other occasion that calls for a little edible art.
Ingredients: 1 cup butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 cups all-purpose flour. teaspoon baking powder. teaspoon salt. Assorted food coloring. Small flower pot molds. Popsicle sticks. Edible flower decorations. Chocolate cookies or Oreo crumbs for 'dirt'.
Instructions: Mix the butter and sugar in a big bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix them in well. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a different bowl. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are just combined. Separate the dough into equal parts and use food coloring to color each one a different color. Press a different color of dough into the flower pot molds, putting them on top of each other to make the effect of marble. Put a popsicle stick into each cookie, making sure there is enough sticking out to look like a stem. For about 30 minutes, put the molds that have been filled in the fridge to make them firm. Warm the oven up to the level suggested by your cookie recipe. Follow the directions on your cookie recipe or until the edges are lightly golden. Then put the flower pot molds on a baking sheet. Bring them out of the oven and let them cool all the way down. To take the cookies out of the molds, be careful when they are cool. To make the cookies look like flowers, put edible flower decorations on top of them. Use chocolate cookies or Oreo crumbs to make the tops of the pots look like dirt. Serve and have fun!
