QUESTION STARTERS // @bloomdecay
‘ do you feel alright? ’
Lydia doesn’t want to tell the truth, or, at least, she doesn’t want to tell her version of the truth which is some sarcastic remark about the way she feels which is immediately brushed off because everyone chalks it up to teenage angst. Apparently, claiming “I’m sad” to anyone doesn’t mean anything and doesn’t have time for such juvenile feelings. Lydia’s used to the way her father brushes her off, practically shoves her out of his office so he can have some peace and quiet. As he makes sure she’s not in his hair anymore, he can’t even see how lonely and broken his only daughter really is. As for Delia, she’s hardly been much of a mother to her, especially when it comes to noticing her behavior.
When Emily asks her if she’s alright, it’s almost foreign to her and she isn’t sure if she should shrug it off as if she isn’t ready to scream out into the void how alone and broken into pieces she feels. ❝ I feel empty, ❞ Lydia finally admits after a moment of silence, her words falling quietly from her lips. Chocolate brown eyes remain on the moss at her feet, heels digging into the ground, hands curled up tightly in her lap. ❝ It’s like I feel so much at once that I don’t even really understand what I’m feeling at all. ❞
❝ I’m sorry that you died, ❞ the teenager softly told the corpse beside her. Lydia was used to talking to ghosts, ones very corporeal. She was still getting used to deceased people that were still rotting and not as put together as the ghosts that could pass as living characters. ❝ How old were you? ❞
