I made a minecraft species! Meet Alwen (the blue) and Siora (the pink)
They're called bloomwalkers, more info under the cut.
Their horns can be a variety of shapes and sizes, but they always often grow two heads taller.
Their front paws being exceptionally sharp and straw, able to break through rock much like an iron pickaxe would. Their legs are also long and powerful, able to help them jump great height and propel them!
Bloomwalkers horns can grow flowers of any kind! When fully grown they stand a couple heads taller than the average player, just a little bigger than a wither skeleton.
They do have tails! The average adult creature has 2 tails, used for balancing (including a counterpalace during jumps). During childhood, these tails look like average deer tails side by side above their behinds.
Language
They communicate through body language most of the time, but with non-walkers they know some key words such as ‘trade’, ‘flower’, and ‘food.’ They learned some noises from local wildlife, but they often make chirping noises and purrs.
Traits
Includes social behavior, habits, traditions, and habitat choices
Bloomwalkers use the gold and lazuli to decorate their huts and caves, favoring sparklies. They arent as advanced as the player or villagers, so they often trade with the latter for food. In return the creatures give them flowers and their loyalty-- If the player attacks a villager, a nearby Bloomwalker will start attacking them along with a golem if there is one nearby. Their homes can be compared to tolkiens hobbit holes.
These creatures usually travel in groups in search of finding flowers, companions, and/or shelter. They’re able to build huts from stone or dirt, carving out the sides of structures and nesting there.
Bloomwalkers often grow their favorite flowers on their horns, and are always priced higher than other blossoms. They share clothes with one another but have favorites of those as well. They collect things that are their favorite colors, so be careful if you die around them, theyll take up to 3 items that are that color off your corpse.
These creatures are herbivores! They have a diet of mushrooms, nuts, fruits, and have often been seen enjoying bread. They are all very fond of soup!
They have very interesting mating rituals. The favorite color factor also comes into play when choosing a mate-- If one likes blue, then it’s much more likely they’ll pick a mate with blue flowered horns. Hut decoration also comes into play here, and the most impressive huts often end up housing more babies.
These creatures have instruments! They can trade for them but theyre quite talented in making their own. These include panflutes, hand-harps, and mbiras.
These creatures often take residence in mountains or in the caves below villages, usually right at the mouth.
There aren’t too many established communities of them, as they like to travel. At night, they make holes in the ground that can go down 50 blocks! An extra measure of caution for a player to take, methinks.
Weapons often carried -
Dagger - Usually thrown, but can be used for close range. Often carried by travelling creatures and made from gold.
Scythes/Spears - Does slashing damage and used for close range. Shaft always made from bedrock and the blade is made of gold.
How do they make weapons? Huh? I thought they were normally peaceful? Yeah but you gotta have weapons when you're travelling. They usually get the villagers’ help or sometimes you’ll find them at your own anvil! Just leave them be, they always use their own resources (but if you leave them alone for too long they’ll start taking things).
Pets
Bloomwalkers often tame (but not domesticate) wolves and foxes, and sometimes cats. They love bunnies, but they’re quite elusive, so they’re rarely pets.
