[text]:Well, my ride just canceled on me, so unless you get me, we aren't makin it to the concert.

admittedly, she does not remember ever seeing the number that follows the sudden brightening of her phone’s screen, a message concerning something about a ride and a concert tacked to the end of it. however, that immediate realization does not deter her from lurching forward to sit up and rushing to type out a reply to the text. especially since she is incredibly interested at the prospect of attending a concert. she has the time. briefly, she wonders when her pride decided to dissolve completely.

   she’s curled up on the couch, thumb  against the controller as she    flicks through the    channels. her other hand feels around a bowl ;     picks up the last remaining chips and tosses them into her mouth.     when her   phone buzzes by her side, yoora glances   down to spot    an unknown number. 

[ 8:14 PM → unknown: ] ??? [ 8:14 PM → unknown: ] i wasn’t expecting visitors [ 8:14 PM → unknown: ] this is yoora. are you sure you got the right number?

thoroughly frustrated with her own stupidity, emi heaves out a sigh as she awaits the response to her message, grip unusually tight around her phone. honestly, she scolds herself mentally. how could you forget the house you have been to so many times? although it has been a while, she cannot forgive herself for pushing such an important location from her mind just yet. there is no excuse. she lifts a hand to rub her face in an attempt to calm herself, practically a second away from physically abusing herself for being so idiotic. 

her exasperated mood only worsens when her phone vibrates, disturbing her thoughts by sending a tingling sensation through her palm and up her arm that is startling. when the device is brought into her vision and the incoming messages are able to be read, emi has to refrain from collapsing with defeat in the middle of the sidewalk. today is simply not her day.

she’s absolutely, positively sure no one had been around to witness her suspicious activities moments before. not once or twice, but thrice she glanced over the area, unable to detect another’s presence. maybe, i need glasses, she thinks. nonetheless, a voice startles her, causing her to nearly release her grip on the gate (the only thing keeping her from crashing into the concrete below), one foot slipping for a fraction of a second. she is momentarily stricken with terror; the quick contortion of her expression and the almost comical wideness of her shocked brown eyes tells it all. turning her head in search of whoever had spoken, emi does not bother to rediscover the balance of the level ground with her feet, instead choosing to retain her most likely ridiculous-looking position for the time being. “yeah, i know that.” a scoff follows the useless retort, accompanied by a roll of her eyes. “i’m just hanging around—quite literally. not trying to sneak into anywhere or anything. just… hanging. you should try it.”
