The Boys: A-Train Blue Hawk Kill Analysis

So something I connected with A-Trains unaliving of Blue Hawk:

The method he unalived him was the same method used to unalive black people back in the Jim Crow era. It was a popular method often involving the use of ropes or chains to restrain a person to the back of a vehicle, proceeded by driving at various speeds thus dragging the person along the dirt roads until they died of their injuries.

A-Train literally snatches this man and DRAGS him along the road until he's no more than the ankle he held onto.

I haven't seen anyone make this correlation yet but I thought that was hella multidimensional. Somebody in that script room knows. their. shit.

Theres MILLIONS of deep rooted references i've caught but that one has to be my favorite as the whole reason this type of kill even took place was because of Blue Hawks racism.

This method of unaliving black folk is RARELY mentioned in todays time.

I love how many references this show slips in because those who know, will catch on. and it gives you that much more connection to the characters. Thats just an insane thing to include so lowkey like wow.

The scene with A-Train and Blue Hawk at the community center… fair warning to anyone who hasn’t watched the episode yet. It’s a hard moment and that’s saying something for The Boys.

Running an evil man around a stretch of wilderness really fast until he dies and you, having avenged your brother and achieved one good deed in your flawed life, also die of a heart attack, seems so shakespearean but it’s literally just from The Boys
