Author's Note: Well, I did not expect to update this fic this year. (I didn't expect to update my other longfic either.) But I started replaying FC5 again, and I got struck with inspiration for this fic again. Anyway, this is mainly a Blue and Joseph chapter. Enjoy.
Next Saturday rolls around, a day so sunny that it puts all the other days that month to shame. Blue wishes they were spending the day outdoors, hiking or climbing, maybe with Boomer or their friends joining them. Instead, Blue is spending their day with Joseph Seed and two FBI agents. They sigh, hearing the sound of Special Agent Hawthorne's car pulling into the gravel driveway. Pulling on their dark green corduroy jacket lined on the inside with sheep's fleece, Blue prepares themself, taking a deep breath. They need to be focused when it comes to Joseph; they need to focus on getting him to talk.
"Be good, Boomer. Enjoy your day with the Ryes," Blue says, petting Boomer on the head. Nick promised he would take Boomer for the day, letting Boomer spend time with him and Carmina in the hangar. At least, Boomer wouldn't have to be miserable like Blue would be, stuck inside.
They step out of their cabin, locking the door behind them. Inside, they hear Boomer whine, almost like he knows Blue is making a terrible decision. Blue approaches the dark blue sedan, getting in on the front passenger side seat. "Mornin', Special Agent Hawthorne."
"Good Morning," Special Agent Hawthorne greets them, pulling out of the driveway as Blue puts on their seatbelt, "You don't have to call me Special Agent; You can call me Dylan if that would be easier."
