i don't think we thank maggie stiefvater enough for not using "oh no we're forced to go on this quest" as the reason why the gangsey embarks on the journey to find glendower. like yes give us a teenage boy with a special interest about a niche subject that kind of makes him ACTUALLY INTERESTED. i'm so tired of "we found this thing" or "we accidentally went to this place" and all the other YA fantasy novel tropes that initiate the plot. and a bonus is that you can tell she wrote the entire series with a thought out plan for EVERYTHING. no one's individual arcs seemed like a side thought or underdeveloped at all 🩷🩷

but trk ended with a line about pig being wrecked and the gansey having more adventures on the ley line. so gangsey reunion in dreamer book right?

My favorite thing about The Raven Cycle is that you're constantly confused about everything that happens there, but so are the characters themselves. The whole "What the fuck is going on okay know what?? whatever! I'm so done for this adventure" vibe truly is the best connection a reader can have to the characters of a story
