Was reading your tags and it just hit me that wow, you’re absolutely right! They really have kept Dokrak in the dark the longest. We all thought she was the first one to find out about the affairs but turns out Kawi has known for much longer, just like he knows about Koi and now Nene, but Dokrak still has no idea. Dokrak also doesn’t know about Pam and Nene’s plan and now Pam also kept Grandma’s diagnosis from her as well. For a character that always seems to be up front about everything & values the truth, everyone around Dokrak has really done her dirty. Truly wonder what will happen once Nene reveals the truth to her…or well HER version of ‘’the truth’’ because that teaser truly confused me? Any theories on what might happen?
hiiii! first of -thank you for the ask! second of - i saw it twice today and got distracted by life and forgot to answer 😩 but here i am now! gonna put it under a 'read more' because it got long 🙃
We're on the same wavelength here!
Dokrak has been very upfront about everything, she's been consistent with her beliefs (and I'm so happy that a character like that exists!!!), she's stood by them, she's defended herself/Pam/Kawi/etc., has been a truly dependable character, even if she is at times depicted as this adorable lil' puppy character who doesn't want to follow in her family's footsteps but wants to make her own path - and good for her!
But in all of that, she's also been consistently kept in the dark by literally everyone (except her coworkers) and I'm genuinely a little upset about that, but I understand it from a plot standpoint. Still - please just stop keeping the truth from her 😭
And you're definitely right there, the teaser was really confusing because ending the episode on a very tense note where Nene is at her door and then following up with a pretty casual, "nothing's wrong" teaser for the upcoming episode (or is it?) is definitely something that made a lot of alarm bells ring in my head. I'm trying not to let that teaser lull me into a false sense of security because I know we have some serious conflict coming up.
I've actually been thinking a lot about what Dokrak's reaction might be and what we can expect to happen, and I'm leaning heavily towards the belief that however she reacts to what Nene tells her (whatever it might be), that her reaction won't be an extremely explosive one.
What I mean by this is that from what we've seen of Dokrak so far, how she's reacted to how people treat her (good and bad), especially in the last two episodes with how she was the first to reach out and give/seek comfort both with Kawi and her mother, I don't think we'll see a falling out between her and Pam - I genuinely believe that would be out of character for Dokrak.
There might be some justified anger and she might be upset because Pam hasn't come clean about things she should have been honest about, but I'm actually leaning more towards Dokrak feeling guilty for what her dad's actions caused for Pam and her family. I think that might actually be what we see - Dokrak taking on the guilt that her dad should have been feeling, instead of being angry at Pam for lying.
As for Nene, I think Dokrak might be a little apprehensive at first, but I don't think it'll take her long to reach out to her and try to build bridges there - everyone can see Nene is suffering and it seems so very in character for Dokrak to want to ease that suffering and give her comfort. I'm also very curious to see how Kawi is going to handle knowing about Nene.
This got extra long and I'm so sorry about that but I have many thoughts about these wonderfully complex character and their wonderfully complex relationships 😩
18. Where you would like to live?- I actually like where I live currently; if I were to move it’d probably be to somewhere else in New England (or back to Canada if Trump gets elected bye fuck that noise Trudeau 4 lyfe) (alternately I’d move to Cali since apparently that’s where everyone fucking lives, rip)
35. Something new- this is so vague but, uh, I got some new deodorant today and it smells fantastic lmao (old spice is the bomb okay)
40. Who is your hero?- this is such a hard question to answer off the top of my head buT UH maybe Adele? she’s definitely #goals
44. Tea or coffee?- both!! I love both. although lately my IBS has made it nearly impossible to drink coffee so I’ve been sticking to tea (specifically Davidstea, go check that shit out cause it’s delicious)
lol I think Jason is going to be perpetually stuck in the ''i did no wrong mentality'' for the rest of his life (imho theres nothing more sad than a person who just cant admit they were wrong smh) but you know let him be, at the end of the day its his credibility/job thats going down the drain...
ugh i just can’t even believe he’s real at this point tbh...
Honestly at this point everybody should trend something related to Lexa everyday of the week until Thursday and then do a total social media blackout that day lmao
nonono, trend something Lexa related everyday, then trend FTWD on thursday. lmao
“God of music, arts, knowledge, healing, plague, prophecy, poetry, manly beauty, and archery. He is the son of Zeus and Leto, and the twin brother of Artemis. Both Apollo and Artemis use a bow and arrow. Apollo is often incorrectly identified as the god of the sun. Although Apollo is the god of the sun in Roman mythology, Helios is the god of the sun in Greek mythology. As the embodiment of perfectionism, he could be cruel and destructive, and his love affairs were rarely happy. He often appears in the company of the Muses. His attributes include the laurel wreath and the lyre. His sacred animals include roe deer, swans, cicadas, hawks, ravens, crows, foxes, mice, and snakes. His Roman counterpart is also named Apollo.”
I was honestly expecting Hestia, so getting both of the wonder twins instead is very surprising XD
