Is your muse in denial a lot?

Honestly? Not really, no. Vegeks is pretty clear with himself about things in that his thoughts and identity are the only things right now that are 100% his, not just fragments of someone else (eg. his memories). Which just leads to him being fairly honest with himself about things, primarily because his own identity is so important to him. He’s not going to deny/lie to himself about things.

He’s fairly good at accepting things as they are and either dealing with it or just moving away/distancing himself from it if he doesn’t want to deal.
